Water hose that's been in the sun and the water is hot coming out of it.
Regular gasoline.

2,4-D
I grew up in the country.
Also, on art days in elementary school we got to bring one of our dad’s old shirts to class so we didn’t get paint on our clothes. I’d also borrow an undershirt from him occasionally as I got older. I’ll never forget how those shirts smelled like him. It sounds weird as hell when I type it.
New school books.

I still love the smell of Vick’s salve.
The new stuff isn’t nearly as strong as the old stuff, which would clear your sinuses if you dabbed a bit under each nostril.

The smell of animal feed
I still remember the smell of silage on my grandad’s cattle farm. And diesel. And saddle leather.

I liked the smell of a garage which is leftover from hanging around my dad’s garage.
Smell of hifi and electronics stores
Smell of my dad sawing up boards on his radial arm saw
Cutting up firewood with dad’s chainsaw. 2 cycle exhaust and bar lube

Mimeograph ink that was used to make copies of tests, etc. when I was in school as a kid.
Magnolia blooms since our neighbor had 2 HUGE trees right on the property line and both trees were no more than 12 ft. from our house, and with no A/C growing up, the smell of the blooms would permeate the house when the fan was running to draw in outside air.
My grandpa's outhouse that had the obligatory deep hole under it.
He had a kitchen sink, bathroom sink and tub in the house, but no toilet. That all drained into an open ditch that was lined with cement and led to a larger earthen ditch near the street. The odor was real, especially in the summer.
The 4-H shows on Aycock St. as a kid where people would come with their prize hogs, sheep, cows, bulls, etc. to be judged.
The stockyards on Aycock St. in Arabi where cattle would be held for sale and slaughter.

Oh.... that's a good one.
Also... Western Auto. Yes, it was just tires, but still... haven't smelled it since I was a boy. Even at a tire store. Or else it's just not as "neat" as it was when I was a kid.
And the Candy counter at the Sears. Candy and Roasted peanuts.

Racing fuel, rubber smell from the track. My dad used to take me to Daytona and Talledega.

We passed a ci ci's pizza and the door opened and that aroma brought me back to 9th grade 2 days for football.

Canvas tent. Every year, my dad, who loved camping, would pull the tent out of storage and set it up in the backyard to air out my friends and I got to camp out. I can still vividly remember that smell.
It looked exactly like this one.

An old country store with wood floors, wood stove, etc. Unmistakable...
The Emerson MultiPlex Stereo as it came out of the box (that my parents gave me for my birthday in 1978)...
Old fashioned Christmas trees combined with the bulbs that got hot to touch...(real trees don't seem to have that scent these days)
My mom's Pacquin hand cream...she used it every night after doing the dishes...
The two-cycle gas smell when I fired up the old Lawn Boy push mower...
