Spinoff to the Millionaire Next Door thread - How many millionaires do you know?
Posted on 7/24/18 at 3:49 pm

I'm talking people you personally know and who knows you that you think may be a millionaire. Not the owner of some large business you met at a party once who would never remember you next time he saw you.
And by millionaire I mean someone that has a million or more in investments or a business. Don't count home value.
Personally, I know at least 20 millionares and one potential billionaire, none of whom you would know had money looking at them or going by how they live.
Of course, being a millionaire today doesn't mean as much as it used to. Today you need at least 5 million to really have and do things most can't.

We run deep in a circle of 50

A lot. Being a millionaire isn’t a big deal like liberals try to pretend.

a lot, i don't even know how many.
I know 2-3 liquid cash billionaires. The only reason I know more than one, is because the other 2 guys are friends/business associates of the one.

I find it hard to believe the billionaire doesn't stand out looking at his life.

1 confirmed. The father of one of my really good friends, but he may not remember me because he is a raging alcoholic. He did pay for a $4k bar tab that me, him and 2 friends rang up once though

Networth millionaires? Probably 200. Liquid cash millionaires, 5 or 6.

About 2% of US adults are millionaires.

There are only about 540 billionaires in the US, and you know 3 of them with over a billion in liquid cash?
I don't believe you. Either that, or you didn't understand the OP's explanation of "know."

And I believe there's only one billionaire in all of Louisiana.

Well when 1 of them is very close to you (almost family) for 20 years and you spent a lot of time with him and have spent time with numerous of his business partners including 1 who funded his whole business from the get go it becomes easier to realize. These guys run in similar circles, especially oil and gas explorers. But whatever

Who said anything about Louisiana?
Texas and Dubai actually
And there’s more than 1 in Louisiana. About a handful. Forbes is not a good source

That's all believable, but $1 billion or more in liquid cash? Come on.

I can think of 2 in LA. Benson and Chouest. There are wealthy families, but those are the only two individuals I would think make the mark.
