Reasonable question but there have been far more Christian's going around evangelizing than gays waving rainbow flags.
Statistically you're far more likely to encounter a Christian than a flamboyantly gay activist.

comparing Christianity to lgbtqrxzsdvbf overt acts is kinda like comparing
apples to celery
fish to snakes
chevy to horse buggy
prime rib to nails
cake to grass

Personally, I've never ran into a gay person waving flags and shouting about gay pride. Not saying that doesnt happen in places...
Same here with a few gay folks I've known and worked with. The closest was a dude I worked with had a pride flag as his desktop background and a friend of my bowling teammate who hangs out with us wears a hat with a pride flag themed logo. Both were cool and didn't make their sexuality their entire identity. What they do is their business.

But Ive had Christian's come at me with their religious beliefs in numerous ways... Knock on my door, shout at me on streets, approach me on the beach on vacation, approach me at work, reach out to me on social media, approach me at school functions, call me on the phone, the list goes on and on.
With the exception of Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on my door, this hasn't been my experience either and I lived most of my life in the deep south. I take that back, I did date a young lady with a strange set of morals who didn't like the fact that even as a lapsed Catholic it's still part of who I am and she was Baptist. While she went to church she was completely opposite in the bedroom and was bi-curious.
quote:
All the gay pride stuff I see is on the news and TV. Granted I dont live in San Fran, Key West, or New Orleans.
But hell.. I cant turn on the radio or TV on Sunday without being blasted with Christian Services.
I work in tech and every June just about every hardware and software vendor changes their logo to a rainbow flag. I don't really care if they support it but we all know it's for marketing and even some gay and lesbian folks feel it's overly patronizing. In fact, I think their marketing departments are more concerned about how diverse their workforce is than the performance and reliability of their products.
On the other hand, I can ignore it just like the Sunday services on TV and it's not like every channel of the hundreds you can get are doing it. Maybe a couple local TV stations will have some televangelist (which to me aren't good representations of Christianity anyway...hey just like the marketing departments going HAM on Pride Month aren't representative of gays and lesbians)
quote:
Why is one ok ... but the other is not? Why is one deemed by so many of you as being shoved down your throats and in your face... but the other is perfectly ok?
I couldn't care less either way but I don't let little shite bother me like that. Seems like you're the only on on this board to be hyperventilating about it.

Lol, I’m guessing you came out of the closet and it didn’t go well for you.

None of this has ever happened.

Sounds like you’ve got a lot of pent up issues.
I couldn’t give two shits about what someone wants to do with their own life provided it doesn’t infringe on others, but the problem with much of the LGBTQ movement is that it aims to control voluntary thought and speech. That pisses a lot of people off.

My true gay story.
Before I graduated I'm working for a local municipality, we go to a meat and 3 place for lunch. The kind where you cafeteria style through to get your food then get your drink. After that there's a waiter that refills you.
Anyway, guy we're with is drinking sweet tea, he needs a refill. Well our waiter comes by and refills him.
He takes a sip, unsweet tea.
So the next time waiter comes around, guy flags him down and says I'm sorry I had sweet tea, this is unsweet.
Waiter proceeds to stick his finger in his drink and stir it while he says, "it's sweet now."

Had the gay thing happen just the other day. At a coffee shop - rainbow computer cover, rainbow umbrella, gay pride sticker on computer (just in case the rainbow computer cover was missed), rainbow everything. Acted way over the top gay - lisp, feminine, etc.
I also had an gay officer when I was enlisted hit on me this is before don’t ask don’t tell. Found out the fig was wanting out of the military and was hitting on a lot of guys trying to get reported. He ended up getting his discharge with a “LTH”.
So yeah it happens in fact probably more so than the folks trying to save you.

So, when those scary Christians approach you, are you "literally shaking?"
You do realize that Christians are supposed to go out and look for folks who aren't Christians, right? It's one of the fundamental teachings. Church isn't really for those that are saved. It's for the folks that aren't. My preacher just pointed that out to us yesterday.

In a basement of a coffee shop in the Castro District in San Fran waiting for the bathroom I had and old gay guy tell me how he gets off thinking of Obama and Macklemore going at it, then invited me to a bar that did a special kind of “Sunday Funday.” Politely declined, and grabbed my fiancé and gtf. It was pretty awkward but pretty harmless

What's your fascination with gays?

you sure do start a lot of gay threads.
It is a ploy devised and enacted by those who derive their self-worth either by the views other people have of him or by his own view of himself as special since he believes he holds a superior view not held by a group that he is a part of (like tigerdroppings).
