I was reading on that thread that her murderer was a convicted sexually offender.

My question is: why can’t we do more to punish sex offenders? Why do so many in the judicial system sympathize/empathize with them and not put them away for longer?

If this Laverne bitch would’ve been put away for good Mickey would still be alive. I feel like many murderers start out as sex offenders. Why don’t we do more to stop them for good to prevent them from committing further crimes?

A few judges need to be shot so that a clear message is sent.

The penalty should involve chemical castration.

We should set kid diddlers on fire. I'm not talking about a 19 yr old that got caught with a 16 yr old. I'm talking about the 48 yr old man that rapes a 9 yr old kid.

because we now lump those who commit a whole lot of minor, non-violent crimes in as sex offenders. That kind of waters down the seriousness of the violent offenders like rapists, etc.

So why do judges not think this is a serious crime? Do some of them sympathize and have predatory tendencies that they keep in check?

I just don’t understand how these people are free to walk around. I agree they should have severe punishment. I really wish they could undergo forced sterilization.

If you do more to punish serious sex offenders the laws have to be rewritten to lessen punishment on 18 year olds who have sex with their 16 year old girlfriends.

I agree. Don’t understand how this got to be a crime. I think probably too many girls regretted their decision and wants to blame/punish someone other than herself.

What if a dude turned 18 and his 16 year old girlfriends mother had it out for him?

Punish him equally to the punishment that youd want to inflict on her killer?

I'm all for punishment accordingly, but when you start summing everyone up for convenience, it creates problems.if it is as important as people make it out to be, every individual case should be looked at.

You child molesters that use this excuse are just as bad as the marijuana addicts that say it’s not addictive

Happened to some friends of mine. Slept with a 16 yr old when they were 19'ish. Kind of why I posted what I did earlier. The mom knew about it and she and her husband went through a nasty divorce. She asked my buddy to testify in the divorce case and he refused and charges were filed. Luckily everything was eventually dropped after they spent thousands on lawyers.

Is this not possible to do or something?

There is a huge difference between an 18 year old and a 16 year old having sex and a 32 year old having sex with a 10 year old.

It's a shame that these two are under the same law.

It is. If you’re an 18 year old man you can go to war and buy cigarettes. You’re an adult. You should go to jail for banging a child

How often is that actually prosecuted though? It’s a good talking point but I don’t know if it’s common in reality.

Some of the most evil people to ever live were scorned women.

Should be death penalty for all of these crimes

Rape
Kidnapping
Home invasion
Child molestation
Armed robbery
Car jacking

All of these are terrorist acts. The damage is immeasurable.

We need to kill anyone who commits these crimes immediately.

you don't find many predator-friendly jurisdiction

and the sex offender registry is terrible and WAY too harsh for a solid % of people on it (note: not everyone in the registry molested a child)

Home invasion could be a drunken misunderstanding, the others not so much.
