I agree with goldennugget.
Love is the delusion that one woman differs from the next.

Well, some can make your life a lot more miserable than others.

The common denominator in all these women being crazy and doing you wrong is you. If you meet one a-hole during the day then maybe he's just an a-hole. If you meet ten assholes during the day then maybe you're the a-hole.
Maybe you're just a loser and not worthy of the type of mate you're looking for.

We broke up over her wanting to leave LA and me just starting my new career here. She hasn't from LA so her heart wasn't there, so we split. Atleast she did leave the state, makes everything easier.

I dated a lot of great girls and they have gone on to become great wives and mothers. I'm still friends with a lot of them and I'm happy for them. I have a great wife and great kids so I don't have any regrets about the ones that got away

I met her in high school and absolutely adored her from the start. Naturally she put me in the friend zone for it.
I decided to work the long game, even when she was dating another dude for three years. I dated a few other girls in early college but always really loved this girl.
Third year of college I was an alcoholic POS who would stick is dick in anything, so naturally she wanted me for a change. Power dynamic shifted. We were officially together for three months. We stayed FWB for maybe two years after.
I ended up meeting my wife and pushing her away.
She ended up marrying a guy that looks just like me.
When I catch myself outside mowing grass in a spot we made love under the stars, I still pause. It's been 10 years and I can tell you what she smells like, what she tastes like.

Thankfully, she didn't get away--I married her.
Could have easily fricked it up, though. Better to be lucky than good, I guess.

My first love I met the summer before I went to college. She was still in high school, so it was a long distance relationship. We dated for almost a year. The distance got to both of us. She had people in her ear that I was cheating on her, and I was immature and jealous too. She broke things off but still would contact me every so often. I would beg her to get back together, but she'd tell me give her time. Then she'd keep contacting me. Eventually, I had to ask her to quit calling me. It was killing me inside.
Six months later, I met my ex-wife. With all the shite that woman put me through, it made me start thinking about the other girl and what could've been. But it is what it is.

I was stubborn and kept using mono. Huge trout broke me off in the surf. Been using braid ever since.

I've had a few that "got away" but I can say in hindsight that each was for the best. In a couple of situations, it was best of me. In specific situations, it was best for them.

I tossed her to the wayside to chase a piece of poon that I never caught.

I had been hunting all season in this flooded cypress swamp. Killing the wood ducks was easy, but the mallards were hard to come by. They were in there, though, you would jump them up sometimes on the way in or out. Anyway it was the second to last weekend of the season. I was sitting in a pirogue in a sort of shallow lake in the middle of the woods. It was a beautiful morning, but cold as hell. I had to break ice in the lake to get set up. I had my 3 wood ducks, and one Susie (hen mallard), and I was looking to finish a limit of six ducks with a couple of greenheads (mallard drakes). Lo and behold, here comes a pair of them. I hunker down, quacking softly on my duck call. They circle. I quack some more. They circle again. They circle one last time, low and into the wind. I can see the bright green heads iridescent in the morning sun. They're going to pass overhead at 15 yards. I pick up my gun, steady my aim, and shoot as they come into range. It's a miss. I swing to the next one, still in easy range and now flaring straight up, he is almost motionless, stalling into the wind. I fire and miss again. My gun jams, denying me a third shot.
I walked out in disgust. To this day I've still never limited on Mallards and Wood Ducks, which is a big goal of mine.

My one who got away expected me to move with her to her hometown when she decided she was ready. I wasn't ready to uproot my life and career on such notice, and when I asked her hypothetically if she would be willing to wait a year, she said no, and that's when I knew she was gone.
She's now married to a pussy who follows orders, and I'm marrying a woman who is thinner and happier than her.

I fooled around and fell in love. Plus, she was bat-shite crazy.

The idea that one woman is "special" or "different" or "the one" makes me laugh.

Yea i have this one plus another that I honestly just miss as friends. They were so cool. I don't keep a real big circle so when you lose someone from that small circle it's tough.
