carnival has a "cheers" program. You pay $250 per person and you get as many drinks/mixed drinks (up to $9) as you want for the duration of the cruise.

To clarify this is a family vacation on a Disney cruise ship. Most people aren't trying to get smashed 24/7. A few beers a night and a bottle of wine split between me and the mrs. is good for me.

From my one time experience, they seem to have figured out everyone's strategies. After all the effort and expense of trying to the cheat the system, it may just be better to purchase drinks on the ship.

Pay 350 for the 7 day pass of 15 drinks a day. Order long islands. Profit.

Or, don't pay to be told that you can't bring a legal substance in the amount you want on your vacation. Go to the beach and roll out an ice chest full of drinks.

Just got back from a Carnival Cruise. Had similar bags like the rum runners. (Caught some at a parade). Had about 10 people do this on the cruise, and about 50% got through with their liqour. Also the wine bottle definatley works. One friend got caught in the check in line when they searched his carry-on and basically distracted security while the rest of us walked through with ours.

I brought a quarter of blow on a carnival one and my friend got 20 joints on it a cigarette pack. I wrapped the coke around my upper thigh with sports wrap and tape. There were no dogs at all. And they don't have body scanners.

Cruises are great entertainment.
Last cruise we went on was two summer ago. You know right when you get on the ship and they hold you in the main atrium for a couple hours before your rooms are ready?
Well my cousins and I started slamming margaritas while we waited. After a little while we lost one of them. Then, later, as we're going to the rooms we find him.
He's riding down the hallway shirtless on a motorized wheel chair screaming at the stewards. He fell off and passed out before he reached the room. They threatened to put him in cruise jail.
We had been on the ship for maybe 1.5-2 hrs of a 7 day cruise
He actually made it to dinner that night....in a 3 peice suit (it was a casual night)
