We made our wedding/honeymoon plans right after the Muslims crashed into the twin towers. Being patriotic and afraid to leave the country we ended up in key largo for 8-9 days. Wife swam with the dolphins, snorkeled in the dry tortugas and made 2 day trips to key west. Very relaxing

Punta Cana.
In retrospect I wish we would have went to Europe.

New York, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome. Had to fly out from NYC so we stayed there a couple nights before we went to Europe. Spent 3-4 nights in each spot in Europe. Great cities but should have only picked 1 or 2 cities at the most. You can spend a week in anyone spot. And you don't eat to spend your time packing and unpacking.

That was by far the worst part. Packing and unpacking.

I packed WAYYYYY too much stuff for mine. Never again. Next time I take a trip like that I'm doing the backpacking route.
Quite embarrassing to be lugging around all the luggage we did on our trip and everyone else on the bus shuttles have just the large backpacks. Felt like a typical dumb American tourist

Spending a full week there later this year. I learned the same lesson on our last trip. Slower is better.
