She has you on the back burner. She is looking for something better, has yet to find it, so she keeps you on the line as her back up plan.

I'm friends with my two serious ex's. I rarely see them though and we don't talk very often but the communication lines are open

A few. The ones that I was real serious about I have no contact with other than one on Facebook. And both of our lives went in different but much better directions. We were not healthy for each other.

My ex wife.....I like others would likely not piss on her if she was on fire, although the thought of pissing on her does have its positive points. I am remarried and in a much better place in life.

I wouldn't say I'm friends with any exes, but I am friendly to all of them. Even the ones who royally fricked me over. No point in making a big deal out of the past.

Yes:
#1- six year marriage - she is now a psychiatrist in DC - we talk quarterly & get together when she is in town
#2 - 18 year marraige - now a therapist in Dallas - mother of my children, so that bond will never cease - speak often & dine when she is in town
#3 - 12 year marraige - now a SW flight attendant - we speak very little - speak often with her childre ( I raised them) - to bad, but she is a small town girl with a soap opera mentality that keeps her from developing the "friendship"

Still surprised how you can care enough to exchange the vows and have it deteriorate to bitterness

when i was still in my run and gun mode (single and not settled/still partying) the answer was yes to this question, only bc i used them for extracurricular activities every now and then lol, but since i've settled and am about to get married no, wives/fiances don't take too kindly to you stringing along your hoochie/psycho exes lol

No. They always wanted to still hook up, even after I got married. I don't need that mess. It actually gave me an excuse to change my number.

As a follow up to those who are like me (not friends with the majority), what is the reason for that?
