You can use them for whatever you want, but don't waste it on a speeding ticket.

Like I said earlier, 20+ over typically requires a court visit. Just call them and see if you can pay, and tell them you don't want it on your insurance. If they want you to come to court, say you work out of state or something, and don't have time to come in

Also I think bad credit should be permanent, too.

How does a rational person hold this position?

This. I’m just saying that’s what the DA office is going to suggest to you. People on here always preach the “just call the DA’s office, they’ll help you out! They just want the money!” Which is not the case at all.

They couldn’t care less about pulling your ticket and helping you out.

They know whether or not you have insurance as soon as they plug in your DL number. This information is reported to the OMV by the individual insurance companies.

My advice to you would be to call the St. Chuck Parish DA's office and ask to have your ticket converted to a non-moving violation. You would have to pay the fine and take an on-line driver safety course, but would not be reported to your insurance.

He only asked me for my drivers license but not for my insurance and registration.

That's because the other two can be verified on their end.

I’ve never had a speeding ticket in Louisiana show up on my insurance.
