What land does anyone actually own in this country?

Yes they did I know the company that did it. Gas got in the damaged sewer and backed up in the building resulting in a big boom. Out of everything you could possibly hit gas and power are the scariest cause it can kill you. Water can cause more damage than you can imagine. Completely washing out roads, flooding houses etc. Communications is usually just expensive. And sewer is obviously just shitty. If someone is digging or drilling in your yard and a sinkhole suddenly appears after they leave it’s most likely dirt going down the busted sewer.

That’s why most places require sewer cam runs if your boring now.

Never had to do that prior to drilling we’ve done it afterwards to locate damage or show that there is none. Some people want something to be wrong so bad you have to show them there’s no damage. We usually popped manholes to check depth and run locatable rodder down a clean out to locate the service to the main. Really only a issue on ftth jobs if it’s long haul check the main get away from it and send it.

First thing that crossed my mind. Lucky bastard.

I usually don’t get upset until someone wants to come through 20+ miles of my property.

hey are doing it through an easement and you can't fight it, or they are doing it through eminent domain, which you also can't fight.
You can't stop them but you can try to fight them to make them give you more money for it
Thought it's unlikely to be worth it

I just send my domestic staff out to gun them down.

Make them pay rent for the land used.
frick a lump sum, get a monthly check.
Sure, it may not seem much in comparison, but a couple hundred a month for the use and access for their crews to your land for maintenance adds up in the long run.
If they say no, tell them to find somewhere else to plant it.
Remember: anywhere they have that line is subject to letting them have unfettered access for maintenance.
Make them pay monthly.

Then when you’re gone at work, they’ll be laying cable in your wife.
Then we can have a "Charter did my wife" thread.

I am not familiar with the program, but I do know people who have had companies run a pipeline through their property. One went so far as to re-survey the strip of land that the pipeline ran on as a separate property and then leased it to the company. By doing that he owns the property and can sell all adjacent land and still maintain the monthly income from the lease.

I should have been more clear. We run post cams, not pre. We also set them up under different companies so no one realizes we're checking ourselves lol

Lease them the land like they do with cell towers.
