Speaking of comets, how many here could see Halley’s Comet twice?

If you saw it as a kid in 1986 you could possibly see it again in 2061.

Sobering to think about all of your life that you had ahead of you on first viewing, and how your story will be almost finished when the comet returns.

I was brought up in more of a Haley’s starburst kind of household.

I was 20 and remember how underwhelmed I was. They hyped the hell out of that thing and a streaking light way up was anti-climatic. Don't know what I expected but I damn sure expected more.

Hale Bopp and the the other one that came along right around the same time were both spectacular.

I vividly remember going to an observatory and seeing it.

I was 8.

What’s crazy is that 75 years seems like a long time between viewings but it’s just a blip of a blip of a blip in time.
