It is not really meant to... more of a hope.
Seems to be holding up really well coming from orbital. This is much more stressful on the vehicle than suborbital reentry.

Interesting... they delayed launch so that... in case this exact scenario happened (which it did)... Starship would land in sunlight instead of darkness

They're gonna catch this thing on 15 if they can get one of the other pads ready to go in case something devastating happens on the pad with the catch.
