Both camps were in the marsh on the south side of White Lake

I think it is understandably, wishful thinking from the residents in the Vermilion and Lafayette parishes. However, this is an all new industry. These things organically tend to evolve over time and with Elon, he is very capable of turning it into something incredible.

The then biggest indie oil company was drilling on Exxon land? I don't doubt that some of it was Exxon. The original comment noted 150,000 acres owned by McIlhenny, but almost half that became Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge

The Superior canal is a bit West of the property in question. If you hunted Superior, you did not hunt on the potential space x property.

Major press conference will be happening tomorrow at 11am in Abbeville, where we finally get details about what we are getting and the NDAs final become disclosed and public.

I’m hoping tomorrow they give us an idea exactly where they will put the port. Once plans are announced everything should start to take off. I read that it took Boca Chica 7 years from the dirt work to when they were launching. I would imagine this project would go a little bit quicker with the experience they have in Boca Chica.

If the rumors are correct that this will dwarf Boca Chica, this will indisputably be the biggest economic development announcement in the history of the State of Louisiana. Lafayette will become a household name nationally.

Thousands of people will have to move here and live somewhere. Orlando is an hour from Cape Canaveral. This will spur other industries. Even if SpaceX requires infrastructure investments in the region, including new or expanded roads, other industries would benefit as well. They are talking a thousand launches per year. Averaging 3 a day will require significant infrastructure and ancillary development.

I guess we’ll see tomorrow how much Kool-Aid and hopium I’ve been drinking. I just hope this doesn’t become this generation’s “Disney World in Louisiana” blunder in 50 years.
