I know some have gone from rain and sleet, to sleet, to sleet and snow, to snow, back to sleet and rain, and now all sleet. This is entirely expected here along the dividing line and is pretty much dependent on how heavy the precipitation is falling. If you’re in a weaker area on radar, it’s probably mostly rain and a little sleet south of a Fort Polk to Alexandria to Natchez MS line. When the yellows and oranges move back, it’s sleet and snow. As it sustains itself for a bit, it turns to mostly snow, and becomes heavy. That’s why accumulations are so tricky. Trust me, some models show flat out stupid snow totals. But you have to account for wet snow, mixing with sleet and rain, along with warmish ground temperatures. But my thought process remains unchanged. Snow and sleet will be the predominant precipitation type, and that line could shift as far south as DeRidder to Marksville. North of that line, accumulation is likely. Perhaps several inches in some spots. South of that line, it looks like mostly a cold rain.
