Yes. We applied 8 months before our daughter was born, she got in at 6 months old. That's 14 months if you don't feel like doing the math.

I'm kinda horrified that one day our nanny will realize how much she has us by the balls and either quit or ask for a lot more money

Finally I am "post #" superior to someone. Born in s'port and agree that it does indeed suck. Other side of river is way to go.

From what I can tell by listening to all my friends there are cottage industries of daycares that are placeholders between birth and the "good" daycares everyone wants to go to. "Well, we're going to have to send BlahBlah to Granny Windsor's Play Day until a spot opens up at Grand Golden Academy of Toddlers...you know, the place where The Joneses got in...". Seems to me you could make plenty of money advertising yourself as a 3-4 star place and preying on the parents who are desperate because all the 5 stars are booked up till Haley's Comet reappears.
