What is incredible that when a Christian does something this despicable, they act like it makes all Christians look bad. But when all practicing Muslims do this to 8-10 yr old boys, it is culture and religion.

Not sure if serious

SB abused 700 kids? They should be executed but the Catholic Church has abused 100s of thousands, probably millions......with the approval of the Vatican.

Your hatred for the Catholic church will drive you to hell. Be careful, he is watching.

Is this the same

who said:

None of your fricking business a-hole. It's not her job to go to the SOTU. frick off dipshit.

In response to my rather innocuous:

quote:

Is it improper to ask why the hell she could apparently attend a play a few days ago, but can't manage to attend the SOTU? US taxpayers still pay her a buttload of money, don't they?

Might want to check out that plank, brother. Think it might be in your lefty eye.

I don't hate the Catholic Church, or Catholics. I hate the abuse of innocent kids. I hate the protection of the abusers of innocent kids. I hate the proliferation of the abuse of innocent kids by covering up and moving the problem, rather than having the criminal face justice. The brand of religion only matters to the extent that the Catholic Church has been despicable, and evil in their response to these things.

ETA: Most Christians capitalize even pronouns such as "He" in sentences like yours, because you are speaking about God. You've seen it in the Bible since you were little. Your respect, and reverence is appreciated. After all, He is watching.

I went to a private southern Baptist middle school, while I was there one of the teachers got caught with a hot laptop and arrested for child porn. I didnt find out that was the reason until a few years after the fact I guess because my parents didnt want me exposed to the harsh realities of life at that time. Cops interviewed a few of the kids he taught to make sure he didnt touch them (he didnt) but life carried on as normal. I left one year after this and was kind of the start of an exodus of students from the school, it eventually went under and closed.

I have had a healthy skepticism for many southern Baptist institutions since my experience there. After I saw my school try to keep the news about one of our teachers being a pedo a secret it is no surprise to see a similar rot within the Southern Baptists that exists within the Catholic Church. I am confident that they will address the problem in a similar manner as the Catholic Church and will try to pretend they dont have a problem within their ranks even when the evidence right in front of their faces says otherwise.

If that is your reaction to this story, then you are part of the problem.

Large, modern day Christian organizations like the SBC are incredibly corrupt and morally bankrupt institutions.

Well, yes. By your own admission the response to criminal actions by someone in authority was to contact law enforcement and have the criminal arrested. And then in the same breath you equate them to the Catholic Church, whose response has been to cover up the crime, relocate the criminal, bribe the victims family, shame the victim, and shield the criminal from law enforcement.

Your apparent inability to see this difference is what confuses me.

Yea I believe the Baptists have probably been covering up child abuse within their own ranks although not to the degree that Catholics have been. Is that so unbelievable?
