IKR! How the hell do you restart people's hearts, provide lifesaving cancer treatment, give people cornea implants, do hip and knee replacements and think those are all just fine and IVF isn't? Oh, God gave men knowledge to do all these other things but nope, God didn't give mankind knowledge to perform IVF?

Are fertilized embryos destroyed during those other procedures or as a part of the process? God gave mankind the knowledge to do lots of things we shouldn’t.

Fwiw I’m not arguing for or against, just don’t see how one can be “pro life” as in life starts at conception and be ok with destroying embryos.

Not the best argument from a religious perspective

Man has the ability and knowledge to perform and create many things. Man's ability to perform an act does not dictate the acts morality

If that were the case, no religion would view abortion as wrong

Considered a sin in the Catholic Church as well. Along with getting clipped.

The thought process as limited as I understand it is, reproducing, i.e. creating life is got God to bless on married couples. It is how it was intended from the beginning. In other words trust Gods plan for your life in having kids or not having kids.

Where I have a hard time is 1) It’s all Gods plan, if he doesn’t want it to happen it won’t no matter how much humanity monkeys around with it. 2) Maybe God gave us the knowledge of IVF as part of his plan.

Anyway it’s very confusing and the ole lier from way back makes sure we’re all confused and second guessing Gods plan so we can burn with him at the grand finale barbecue in Hell.

Don’t fall for it. Trust in the Lord and don’t get lost in the details.

In the process of what?

How can it be sinful to promote life?

This article explains it pretty clearly.

Ivf

quote:

IVF patients usually need multiple embryos to ensure just one healthy baby, because the process often involves embryo attrition, Lucky Sekhon, reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at RMA of New York, tells Axios. Many of the embryos used in IVF are frozen, and first have to be thawed before getting transferred — a process that not all survive. Not all thawed embryos pass genetic testing and are considered to have high reproductive potential. Not all embryos of high reproductive potential successfully implant into the uterus. And not all embryos that implant lead to a healthy baby — pregnancy loss is possible. Three or more embryos may be required for a patient to have one pregnancy, Sekhon says. Of the embryos that thaw and pass genetic testing, about half to two-thirds lead to pregnancy in an ideal scenario, she says. IVF patients can choose not to discard their unused embryos, but other options may not be a fit for everyone, particularly if people have embryos that are graded unlikely to lead to a healthy pregnancy.

What could go wrong allowing "trans" couples a means of having kids?

Good thing the fee fees of the parents supersede the well-being of children in 2024 so we can celebrate this miracle.

2) you’re ignorant to what goes on during IVF and the number of babies destroyed to get one to birth.

Sounds like you are the ignorant one

Let the people who have actually been through the process tell you otherwise

I've said alot about my religious beliefs in this thread, but since my first post, I wanted to say that I mean no harm to those who have birthed a child this way. God Bless You.

That's right, why not make it harder for someone who wants to have a child, cherish and love it? Sounds really sinful to me...

Fertilized embryos aren't destroyed in the process unless you choose to destroy them.

I would never endorse a government that makes laws based on religious beliefs (a theocracy) - trust your boy NDT when I tell you that shite is NOT cool

They are often frozen, many don’t survive freezing (ie destroyed by being frozen). I literally posted an article showing that the most common way IVF clinics get rid of excess embryos is throwing them in a trash can. Does every ivf procedure involve destruction of embryos? Probably not, do many..perhaps even most, seems clear they do.

This one of those arguments that immediately identify the types that aren't real intelligent or very good at forming logical arguments:

"Hurr! Durr! IVF is a medical procedure! Therefore if you oppose IVF you must oppose all ALL medical procedures!"
