Well she’s unrepentant about it. I’m 100% sure in her heart she’d do it again given the chance.

Can’t get into heaven like that.

It means your blanket statement about denying an infant its natural mother is false.

It is one of the issues with IVF from a religious perspective

IVF is a blanket practice that several applications fall under; thus, not all issues apply to every IVF instance, but at least 1 does apply to every instance, simply by the nature of what it is

I just discovered that most religious people are against IVF. Pretty stupid. I had it explained to me as "it's obviously not in gods plan so you can't try to get around that"

I told them "ok so when you get cancer or something, make sure you dont do any chemo or radiation because it's obviously in gods plan and you shouldnt fight it" lol

Slap them, tell them to turn the other cheek, that it was obviously god's plan, then ask for forgiveness and say some hail marys.

Does she at least have a husband to pay for it or am I paying for ivf now too?

God didn't say IVF is a sin.

No. But he did say crawfish eating is a sin.
And working on the Sabbath. Punishable by death, so we should figure out what day he was talking about.
And letting a woman on her period in your house (Praise the Lord).

You’re good.

2) you’re ignorant to what goes on during IVF and the number of babies destroyed to get one to birth.

Sounds like you might be ignorant to the process as well. That doesn't always happen.

That’s why doctors are always pushing chemo on people

God calls you up to the great tax haven in the sky and doctors want to keep you down here in hell footing the bill for everybody else

Maybe it is, maybe it’s not. But I’m not about to tell a woman she’s committing a mortal sin by attempting to bring a new life into this world by using IVF because she can’t get pregnant the traditional way.

This. To think otherwise is pretty ridiculous.

I’m completely ignorant

I guess God is ok with ivf if it makes more conservative babies but I suspect it skews towards liberal career women

we literally bring people back to life (as well as keep people alive) using science/technology, is that sin also?

IKR! How the hell do you restart people's hearts, provide lifesaving cancer treatment, give people cornea implants, do hip and knee replacements and think those are all just fine and IVF isn't? Oh, God gave men knowledge to do all these other things but nope, God didn't give mankind knowledge to perform IVF?

I spent my whole life as a Southern Baptist. But truly, this is just craziness.

Think for a moment about the power to create a human life. The power of creation is sacred. Our power as humans to create a human life in the image of the Great Creator is very Holy and Divine. It's easy to see why. The power of creation is the power of God. Where in our Father God's creation (Mother Nature) do you see IVF?

This is as unnnatural as all the other stuff we all admonish in this, the month of June, in the year of our Lord, 2024...

Amen

Dude, I'm a Christian, but this is a ridiculous take Completely ignored the whole "give me a scriptural reason behind this thinking" part of it.

Wonder how they feel about adoption then...
