This warning now carries a potentially deadly tag.

Those pics were before the tornado hit Selma

You're saying this facetiously and I truly hope nobody was seriously injured in the storm. Selma is my home town. This could be a blessing in disguise. That area with all the damage in the picture (near the church's chicken) was full of dilapidated buildings that have been abandoned for years. Selma desperately needed a clean slate. My old house was about a 1/4 mile from the country club, somehow that neighborhood was spared. Houston Park, a nice neighborhood across the highway from the country club, saw extensive damage. Feel awful for those people. there aren't a lot of "nice" areas left in Selma

NWS Atlanta has struggled to warn this storm ever since it started going linear.

If anything the city will get a lot of federal relief dollars to help rebuild if the money isn’t all squandered by corrupt officials

I feel like we are ignoring what appears to be a massive tornado in southeast Alabama

Oddest system I can remember. Only a handful of tornadoes but all have been pretty significant

Nothing in the form of spin ups or small short lived tornadoes or anything. Just 3-4 destructive tornadoes spread way apart

It has been down off and on, but not like the one in Georgia.

Really? On radar it looks tightly wrapped almost a picture perfect comma storm. I figured it was a big one

Yeah, surprised to see that. Sort of a discrete cell. A few of those have popped up behind the line.

It is a similar storm to the one in Georgia. Generally, it takes a lot to get a really strong tornado out of those. The GA storm has been a huge overachiever in that regard.

Also, the wind from the Rear Inflow Jet with that GA storm is going to cause damage.

It was North of me and had some hail with it. It kind of meandered into a little more favorable environment, and was probably helped by the terrain over there.
