I've always found it odd how storms all seem to dissipate near Baton Rouge. I suspected it was the chemical plants but never looked it up until now.

So this was a warm front but it’s gonna be colder tomorrow?

Warm front then cold front. Its winter, our low pressure centers are feeding on the temp gradient.

Through 7am?

That is going to make for a dicey call on having school tomorrow.

When there's a warning box of a West to East storm, the far East side of it ends at 7am. It'll be long gone from SE LA by then.

The real reason is that the Indian Mounds are an ancient Native American weather control device.

I know why we should care about dew point, but for those that don’t know, could you explain it to them?

I remember it because I've never seen a well developed shelf cloud in real life until about 10 minutes before things went to shite.

Was it about 10am or so? I had to work the night before if we are talking about the same one. I was going to work late and I've never gotten in my hall and shut all of the doors other than that morning.

That was the most intense 10 minutes or so of a no-name storm I've ever been in.

Baw, I’ll let those who know more than me answer that. From what I understand, the higher the dewpoint, the more moist the atmosphere becomes. At 60° or higher (especially over 70°), storms have lots of ability to intensify.

I could be off on this answer and I’m sure there’s a better explanation available.

Sitting here watching the radar and happy the worst of the storms will likely miss me in Baton Rouge only for there to be multiple explosions outside and now no power.

Got to love that Entergy grid

This line is heavy heavy rain. I’d be shocked if there wasn’t some flash flooding in BR later tonight.
