Yeah these storms off the coast were looking dangerous.

Looks like they broke apart on land.

That damn storm started on 30A before dawn and made it all the way to Dothan before breakfast like a tourist on their way back to Birmingham from the beach. I think it ultimately made it to Georgia before the cell died out

We got Lucky. The first tornado in Dothan/ Houston County went just west of us and the second tornado went just south and east of us. We got a lot of rain and wind but thankfully no damage but 5 miles away as the crow flies is pretty rough.

The severe storms moved out east but we're still getting 40-50 MPH wind gusts around Austin today.

Took out a gas station awning near my house.

That awning doesn’t look like it was properly bolted down.

For sure the Arctic Blast could bring Low Temps in BR near 20 degrees a couple of nights next week.

But 1st a "Slight Risk" of Severe Weather is in the Forecast for Friday.

These guys seem about as confused about it as you all do.

We just flew from FLL to MSY. Landed about 45 minutes ago. Horrible turbulence. Normally we fly right over Fort Myers and close to the end of the panhandle. This time we flew straight to Orlando, angled the path along the panhandle from beginning to end. Got to around 28,000 feet for the remainder of the flight with an hour to go. Normally a 1 hour 50 minute flight turned into 2 hour 15 minute.

Gonna get another round Friday Morning it is looking like. This time it will be the North LA folks bitching about school closures if things keep trending the way they are.

Weird timing on this one with early morning (5-6am) storms kicking off around the Arklatex region. This one is more complicated than the last, with the odd timing being one of the issues. Shear certainly won't be a problem (never is this time of year), moisture looks to be better than the last round, and this trough just looks to have a better overall shape. Still need to see how the surface low progresses to know the possible ceiling. Wouldn't be surprising to see this get bumped to an Enhanced risk.

I will say this though, the tailwind across the gulf made us haul arse to FLL last week. Spent less than 90 minutes in the air. Best flight with no bumps whatsoever.
