A lot of advertisers made it known on social media that they would no longer buy ads on WTVA if Allen Media eliminated the local weather staff. I think that made Allen change their mind.

Good to hear the local demand is still high. They thought no one would miss the coverage. They were wrong.

Sirens going off here in Tupelo. I’m assuming in relation to the touchdown in Shannon

They had a tornado pass through there. I don't think it ever had a confirmed tag, but it was on the ground for a couple of frames.

Tupelo "proper" is just outside of the polygon, thankfully.

And it is about to put down another one.

ETA: It did on the next scan. On the ground between Fulton and Smithville.

They sound the siren for the whole county when a storm is warned. You can be 20 miles from the warned cell & you will get the siren.

That part of the line is ripping right now. Developing kind of a rear inflow notch right near Fulton, helping wrap up that rotation.

That storm that prompted the severe warning with tornado possible tag southwest of Baton Rouge was an impressive renegade supercell

I'm south of you and power is off and on.

Blowing pretty good given we lost most loose trees to the storms past year.

That looks like a bad line coming through Baton Rouge.

There’s definitely a suspicious spot coming up on Nettleton. It’s warned.

My friend issued that warning.
