South Alabama just had to get in on the huge rainfall action.

Approaching a foot on the day in some places.

I got right at 4 inches of rain today. Considering we got about 50 inches or so annually, it's wild to think we got close to 10% of the year's rain fall just in the past 14 hours or so.

We are getting heavy rain and lightning down here. Ditches and yard basically flooded. Got the yard work done yesterday so no biggie.

we left Loxley AL about 5:30 p.m. and drove to Baton Rouge. It must have been bad because going over the bay, people drove 15 mph in the left lane next to someone driving 15 mph in the right lane, but they all had their parking flashers on, so it was ok.

Tornado warning for Spalding County GA. It's going to miss us but it's headed right for my work so I'm staying here for the time being

So they determined the tornado that went by my house Wednesday night was an EF3. Highest rated tornado in city limits since 1996.

It was EF2 when it went over our house.

Thankfully at the house it was minor stuff. Worst was it ripped the gate off the privacy fence.

We're insanely lucky it touched down in the local industrial park so what it hit was largely unoccupied warehouses/buildings. It could've been pretty bad, especially given the time of night (12:30-1:00 am).
