902 PM CDT Fri Apr 4 2025

...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Cape Girardeau County in southeastern Missouri...

* Until 300 AM CDT.

* At 902 PM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain with water rescues ongoing and multiple roads
closed due to high water over them. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Cape Girardeau County. This is
a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Scott City, Bollinger Mill State Historic
Site, Trail Of Tears State Park, Delta, Gordonville, Dutchtown,
Burfordville, Millersville, Daisy, Oak Ridge, Whitewater,
Allenville, Pocahontas and Old Appleton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

I’m in Scott County MO and they’re calling for 4-8” between now and Sunday. We’ve already had 4” of rain in 36ish hours. Will be interesting

Siren going off in Saline County. No confirmation of a touchdown yet but looks like it's going to pass right over me

Whatever that is looks to be heading right towards WLR. Local guy is saying it doesn’t look as strong as it did a little earlier. Fingers crossed

It looks to just be wind and a little hail right now. Watching the area just west of Traskwood and Haskell for the possibility of a spin up.

Bollinger Mill State Historic
Site is an impressive four story brick and stone building, right next to the river that powered it.
The other part of the state historic site is a century old covered bridge over the same river.

They are going to need luck to survive the predicted heavy rains

I will say that if you have a way to get warnings that will wake you up, I would go ahead to bed. This doesn't look like the other night.

They warned two sections of the line moving through Little Rock now. One near Sweet Home and College Station and the other near Sheridan. Neither look all that impressive at the moment.

Yeah, it isn't every day you see flash flood warnings stretching from Tyler, TX to damn near Columbus, OH.

Interested to see what the weather is like in SWLA tomorrow. I’m down on the coast and it blowing a consistent 25-30
