Southdowns Robbery this past Saturday morning around 0630

Anyone hear about the robbery that took place around 0630 on 08/06? Corner of Edinburgh and Orchid.
Girl was getting out\in her car around 0630 and a black guy in a car driving by at the same time apparently pulled a gun on her and took her purse.

The area between the river and dalrymple/park along Terrace isn't exactly what your want a street or two over from where you live.

We don't exactly want what we have a street or two over (as the crow flies) from where we live either, but what you gonna do? I mean, Cherokee is one of the nicest streets in town which crosses Camellia (also a nice street). You would think that Southdowns is somewhat insulated from those areas. Apparently not.

You can't get too far from it. There are pockets of trash all throughout the "nicer" parts of the city.
I lived in the garden district for 3 years. Very nice homes all around me. Anything you don't have locked up is getting stolen.

The girl seems to be doing alright. He purse was never recovered.
