Could be a non-biting midge (gnat).

Same for me here. Never seen these kind before. Larger than a gnat but smaller than a mosquito.

We probably have a couple of hundred in the house right now because the dogs needed to go out to the bathroom and they swarmed inside when the door was opened.

Those I saw outside are around half an inch, have wings, a noticeable separation between the head/thorax and appear somewhat translucent. I’ll try to get a close pic.

ETA- Looked at the car and didn’t see any on the glass. Oh well.

Terrible again tonight!
Swarms of small bugs around lights in Baton Rouge!

Noticed the same thing when I was throwing the ball with my dogs earlier.

We had St Aloysius vs St John Plaquemine today in Port Allen...bibical insects. Gnats, mosquitoes, and these gigantic ants. We won, but a horrible 2 hours out there. Geaux SAS Lions.

I tried to go running and had to cover my face with my shirt. They swarmed my head and as headlights would shine down the street they were everywhere.

Not only do we have a ton of murders, we now have bugs. That should be the headline of the Baton Rouge new tourism pamphlet

Are you new to the area? Because this is nothing new to South BR, or anywhere in South Louisiana for that matter.

Did you go outside in BR the last few nights? He's not exaggerating. It was so unbearable last night that I ended up telling my son we needed to go back inside. The bugs were going down our shirts, swarming our heads when we were walking, going into our mouths, etc. Not normal south LA bugs in the warm weather.

They're also covering my windows and front porch. It's disgusting.

Lived here for 25 years, never seen anything like this. There are so many bugs at night that they are darkening the street lights.
