Searched and couldn't find much. I'm headed to South Africa for a few weeks in May. Have the safari part booked but am looking for recommendations in Cape Town / Stellenbosch area where we plan to spend the second week. What are some things we must do while there. Any hotel/restaurant recoomendations would also be appreciated.

I was there in November last year. Cape Town is a great place. We stayed at Table Bay Hotel. Beautiful place and fantastic service. Took 2 day trips to the wine country and it was worth the time. We used Lion Travel in Canada to book

Dirty little secret is that once Mandela took over, South Africa went to shite. He was a brazen communist who began confiscating farms and land from whites and handing out to blacks who started screwing it up. Country has become incredibly discriminatory towards whites.

Swim with great whites at seal island and bungee jump off the Blokrans bridge. I went for the World Cup, so we had a full plate. Cape Town is awesome. Great food, hit women. Make sure you eat an ostrich steak. One of the best pieces of meat I've ever put in my mouth....And I know my meat.

As a former South African who got the Hell out, just be prepared for some of these random things:

People selling random shite at every traffic light.
Rolling blackouts without any prior warning.
People who stand in public parking spaces and only move if you pay them.

And just be very careful of your surroundings. If you stay in well populated areas or touristy places, you should be ok, but it's not the place to be wandering around town.

Cape Town is probably the most beautiful city in the world IMO, so it's worth the trip. When I went with my family the only time since we left, we had our Afrikaaner cabbie take us on a tour of the area for a pretty affordable price. Probably not the greatest idea, but it worked out ok fortunately.

Table Mountain is a must see.

Victoria Falls in Zambia is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
