How the heck did Winn Dixie get in financial trouble?

They've been a shite show of a store for quite a while in my experience.

Same thing is going to happen to the Brookeshires around here. Neighborhood market moved in across the street and that coupled with Brookeshires no longer emphasizing taking your groceries out and I don’t see them lasting long term.

They have been bought and sold a couple times. The original owners ( the Davis family) sold back in the late 90’s. They are based out of Jacksonville Florida, and Publix beats the hell out of them, even in there home town. And it’s been that way for years.

I live in the area and shop there fairly frequently. It's a nice store

“The beef people” was a good thing 20 years ago. With more people giving up red meat I’m sure their sales have been down.

Winn Dixie is overpriced af. It's laughable.

My father has swore by Winn Dixie meat department for years. It’s never made sense to me with other gourmet butchers like Maxwells in the area.

Butcher shops like Winn Dixie and Publix are legit. Those are the two grocery chains that put a huge emphasis on training meat cutters.

Rouses has them beat in the meat dept.
Publix stores are clean and young people like that. Sad to see WinnDixie fold up.
