Jim Morrison was the head of the space race?

Oh, the flag wouldn't stand in the wind on the moon? OH, yeah, we made that part up, it is fake but the rest is real.

Liberator is furiously masturbating to this thread right now.

my favorite part about this thread is that the quote in the OP is from an interview with Don Pettit in which he says that no one at NASA cares about the moon anymore because all the focus is on getting to Mars
"muh backwards technology"

Part of the problem is that back in the 60's when we went to the moon it was done on a do it and I don't care how, just get it done.
Today government is so bloated with OSHA regs and the EPA you could never get it done. Not to mention it would take an act of congress which would include a massive money grab.

Take a look at percentage of total national budget for NASA then, and now.
That should tell the tale.

It took us like 20 months to put humans back up after the Apollo 1 fire. You're implying they were reckless back in the day, I'd argue against that.

I am not saying they were reckless I am saying there was alot less red tape and BS hurdles to overcome back then.

You need to read a fricking book if you believe that the Nazis espoused "Altruism."

Do you really think the Russians and Chinese would not have exposed this by now if we faked it? Seriously, it’s easier going to the Moon than it would be to fake it. It’s not all that hard to find out if it was faked simply by sending a satellite there and zooming in.
See the thing that looks like a stream? Those are the astronauts footprints. So game, blouses. China and Russia would have sure as frick exposed it if you could not see the footprints.

How would they expose us when they can’t even go to the moon themselves? What is this elaborate plan to call out the US on a moon hoax conspiracy while their countries live under a security police state?

Dude, we fricking launched and landed shite on Mars back in the 70s. Voyager 1 is now 149 AU away from us now. That’s going 3.3 of Earth’s distance from the Sun every single year. The Moon is like absolutely nothing to get a probe over. You’re an idiot.

Because it would destabilize their biggest enemy and make us quite pissed if this were exposed.

The F-1 rocket engine.
We needed 5 of these just in the first stage of the Saturn V in order to get to the Moon. Rocketdyne made these in the 1950s. Now this company is Aerojet Rocketdyne. For the right kind of cash they can build these engines today, but now we have better more efficient rocket engines. The key to the F-1 was the turbo pump. All five of those engines burned tons of kerosene and LOX for about 2 minutes and change. During the early 1960s our citizens pretty much demanded that we would land on the Moon before the Russians. Today most people don't care and that is the crux of the problem with NASA today. No one is in a rush to get to the Moon,Mars or beyond. Some climate yahoo said there is no Planet B, they are wrong, thare are millions of Planet Bs.You can thank that dem a-hole Sen.Walter Mondale for killing the Apollo project by arguing that we needed to spend Apollo project money on social projects instead of manned spaceflight. To a degree he won, now look where we are. That butthead Mondale was from Minnesota.
