My oral surgeon recommends Sonicare. He's the one my cousin, the former state and national president of the American Dental Association referred me to, along with his own brothers and other relatives.

The hygienist who also teaches at one of the local colleges says she's seen the videos of Sonicare actually breaking apart the underlying base structures of the plague deposits before even contacting the gums/teeth the vibration is so forceful.

My fiancée (DMD, Ph.D., MDS, Director at a major dental school) recommends Oral B. First one lasted almost 7 years too, good luck getting a Sonicare to last that long.

If you have the plague, tooth hygiene is the least of your worries.

My sonicare laster 4 years, the orings leak and mess up the motherboard. However the average life span of a Lithium ion battery is only 2-3 years.
