My last dentist office pressured me into buying the oral b at my cleaning appointment. My next checkup they told me I needed a deep cleaning and 6 fillings

You gotta watch out for this. Some hygienists out there toss this around so easily, and it's not necessary all of the time. I was searching for a new dentist and settled for one of those dentist metroplex buildings that houses 50 dentists at a time. The hygienist looked in my mouth, and said she didn't even need to go any further that I needed a deep cleaning (was going to end up being around $250 out of pocket). I've heard that those hurt like a bitch so I was bummed out about having to get one. I thought it was funny though that she didn't at least clean my teeth and do the rest of the exam and just stopped at that. So I got a 2nd opinion with what seemed like a three times as more legitimate dentist, and not only did his hygienist do the full cleaning and inspection, but the dentist said that would have been overkill to get the deep cleaning to just focus more on my gums when brushing.

Moral of the story: be aware of these McDentists trying to upsell unnecessary procedures being done.

My oral surgeon recommends Sonicare.

He must be the 1 out of 10 that doesn't recommend Oral B.

I have an Oral B, but then won a Quip as a door prize at some conference last year. I like it better than the Oral B for everyday use. I still use the Oral B every now and then because it has a special attachment that is supposed to clean underneath the gums.
