My dad saw it just south of New Iberia and said it was more E than SE

I could not see anything due to homes and trees in the neighborhood, also hindered by median lights

I love seeing people excited about space. The reactions on Twitter and Facebook are great a lot of people were really interested in this.

Caught it from the Gulf of Mexico. We are about 60 miles out. Flew probably 30 miles or so south of us. Caught it from horizon to horizon.

a lot of people talking about how low in the sky it was - depending on location and angle of course. But that's a good reminder that not everybody realizes how close space really is. We're talking 60 miles up. The ISS orbits 220 miles above the ground. Draw a line on google maps that's 220 miles and then think about standing that line up to point into the sky. Space is really close.... you just gotta go sideways really fast to stay there (orbit)

Yeah I figured the rigs platforms and boats would have a great view. I’m 25 miles inland and had a pretty good view.

I saw it from the airport in Lake Charles. It was a lot lower than I thought it would've been. It was just above the horizon but there was no question that's what I was looking at.

That was so awesome!

I was outside at work and witnessed it. I didn't know what it was at the time, but was cool to see.
