Well lookin back when I met you, we were shiny, we were brand new
A couple kids who'd never been to town
It was a quart of beer, a paper sack, leave a penny on the railroad track
You let me steal a kiss from you when no one was around
Hangin out, hangin on to the night fore it was gone
Like we'd never see that parking lot again
We were sneakin in the picture show and pourin' bourbon in our coke
Aw and never seein' how the movie ends
And I thought that they might ride off in the sun
[Chorus:]
But you wrecked it all, you wrecked my heart
You wrecked our house and you wrecked my car
Left all the pieces scattered on the lawn
Caught up in your headlights
Well I was blindsided in plain sight
I'll salvage what I may when you're gone but you wrecked it all
Well on down the road we built our home out of bedsheets and Styrofoam
Hopin that the wind might never blow
And it's love or fight, everyday like a Tennessee Williams play
Not knowin how it ended when we signed on for the show
And I hoped that we might ride off in the sun
[Chorus]
Life ain't what it was back then, someone smashed the windshield in
Well you never see it comin till it's knockin out your teeth
And it's the same Saturday, brand new Fords and Chevrolet's
Lined up like they never saw the likes of you and me
And I watched them as they drove off in the sun
A couple kids who'd never been to town
It was a quart of beer, a paper sack, leave a penny on the railroad track
You let me steal a kiss from you when no one was around
Hangin out, hangin on to the night fore it was gone

Lenny Kravitz- Again
I've been searching for you
I heard a cry within my soul
I've never had a yearning quite like this before
Know that you are walking right through my door
All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
A sacred gift of heaven
For better worse, wherever
And I would never let somebody break you down
Until you cried, never
All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
At every time I've always known
That you were there
Upon your throne
A lonely queen without her king
I longed for you
My love forever
All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again?
All of my life
Where have you been

Last one
I was fakin'
While you waited for change to come
I lied when I said I couldn't stay here anymore
When you and I just can't seem to get along
You and I both know
We'll just wait until it all calms down
Down Down
Down Down
Down Down
Careful of the things you want to say
'Cause you're gonna mean 'em
I was fakin'
While you waited for change to come
I lied when I said I couldn't stay here anymore
When you and I just can't seem to get along
You and I both know
We'll just wait until it all calms down
Down Down

Out Last Night
/
Lyrics
We went out last night
Like we swore we wouldn't do
Drank to much beer last night
A lot more than we wanted to
There were girls from Argentina and Arkansas
Maine, Alabama, and Panama
All mixed together and having a ball
Yeah, we went out last night
One thing started leadin' to another
Out last night
Hittin' on everybody and their mother
There were two karaoke girls drunk on a dare
Singing, "I Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher
Yeah, life was good everywhere
We went out last night
Well, you know I'm a music man
I grew up in East Tennessee
But last night I was everything
When I got a few drinks in me
I was a doctor, a lawyer, a senator's son
Brad Pitt's brother and a band on the run
Anything I thought would get the job done
Yeah, we went out last night
One thing started leadin' to another
Out last night
Hittin' on everybody and their mother
There were people doin' body shots up on the bar
Jimmy in a fist fight out by the car
Everybody was some kind of star
When we went out last night
Well, the fact that I'm still breathin'
Means that I must have survived
And that I'll live to go out with
My friends again tonight
Oh, we went out last night
One thing started leadin' to another
Out last night
Everybody started lovin' on each other
They were dancin' on the tables and howlin' at the moon
Pairing off together and pretty soon
There was not a soul in sight
When we went out last night

Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always gonna be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always gonna be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day
Now the darkness only stays the night time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always gonna be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
All things must pass away
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning

Have you been half asleep, and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
It's something that I'm supposed to be
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
-Kermit the Frog

Neil Peart was such a fantastic lyricist. And i hear he was adequate on the drums also.
Here are some of his others.
We are young
Wandering the face of the earth
Wondering what our dreams might be worth
Learning that we're only immortal
For a limited time
We can rise and fall like empires
Flow in and out like the tide
Be vain and smart, humble and dumb
We can hit-and-miss like pride
Just like pride
We can circle around like hurricanes
Dance and dream like lovers
Attack the day like birds of prey
Or scavengers undercover, undercover
I let my past go too fast
No time to pause
If I could slow it all down
Like some captain
Whose ship runs aground
I can wait until the tide comes around
You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose Freewill

This one hits hard. My hubby passed away almost 10 years ago. We were together 37 years and married 33. You just don't know how things are going to turn out. Sometimes it's better that way.
Looking back
On the memory of
The dance we shared
'Neath the stars above
For a moment
All the world was right
But how could I have known
That you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
The way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance
Holding you
I held everything
For a moment
Wasn't I the king?
If I'd only known
How the king would fall
Hey, who's to say
You know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
The way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance
It's my life, it's better left to chance

Two different parts of Glenn Campbell's - Yesterday When I Was Young
I ran so fast that time
And youth at last ran out
I never stopped to think
What life was all about
And every conversation That I can recall
Concerned itself with me
And nothing else at all
There are so many songs in me that won't be sung
I feel the bitter taste
Of tears upon my tongue
And The time has come for me to pay
for yesterday
When I was young
ETA...corrected song writer from Roy Clark to Glenn Campbell...but Roy Clark's version is the first one that comes to mind whenever I think of this song.

The saddest song ever written..
You ran cryin' to the bedroom
I ran off to the bar
Another piece of heaven gone to hell
The words we spoke in anger
Just tore my world apart
And I sat there feeling sorry for myself
Then that old man sat down beside me
And looked me in the eye
And said "Son, I know what you're going through
You ought to get down on your knees
And thank your lucky stars that you got someone to go home to."
(Chorus)
You don't know about lonely
Or how long nights can be
Till you lived through the story
That's still livin' in me
And you don't know about sadness
'til you faced life alone
You don't know about lonely
'til it's chiseled in stone
So I brought these pretty flowers
Hoping you would understand
Sometimes a man is such a fool
Those golden words of wisdom
From the heart of that old man
Showed me I ain't nothing without you
You don't know about lonely
Or how long nights can be
Till you lived through the story
That old man just told me
And you don't know about sadness
'til you faced life alone
You don't know about lonely
'til it's chiseled in stone
You don't know about lonely
'til it's chiseled in stone
You ran cryin' to the bedroom
I ran off to the bar
Another piece of heaven gone to hell
The words we spoke in anger
Just tore my world apart
And I sat there feeling sorry for myself

Bad Company
Ready For Love.
I'm walkin' down this rocky road
Wondering where my life is leadin'
Rollin' on to the bitter end
I'm finding out along the way
What it takes to keep love living
You should know how it feels, my friend
Ooh, I want you to stay
Ooh, I want you today
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
Ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
Ho-ho, call me sometime
Ho bae
But now I'm on my feet again
Better things are bound to happen
All my dues surely must be paid
Many miles and many tears
Times were hard, but now they're changing
You should know that I'm not afraid
Ooh, I want you to stay
Ooh, I want you today
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
Ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for your love
I'm ready
Ho-ho, call me sometime
Ooh, I want you to stay
Ooh, I want you today
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for love
I'm ready for love
Oh baby, I'm ready for your love
Ready for love
Oh, I'm ready now, yeah
Ready for love
Oh babe, I'm ready for your love
Well, I'm walkin' down, down, down this rocky road
Sometimes, I'm wonderin'
But I know as long as we're together
We can make it through the night
We can make it, we can make it
But I need your love
I need your love
I need your love
Give me your love
Give me your love baby
I'm ready, ready, ready now
I need your love
I need your love
I'm ready, ready, give it to me that
Give me your love baby
Give me your love
Yes, I'm ready
Mmmh, mh-mh, mh-mh
Yeah
Ho yeah
Thank you, thank you
Alright, yeah

Be the first Rolling Stone subscriber
Got a pterodactyl for a windshield wiper
Yabba dabba, yabba dabba dabba doo now

Don't know what it means but I say it anyhow
