The point is that unless you have the acreage to support your own wooded trails, you don't get to have a 4-wheeler and ride it anywhere you please.
I understand that 4-wheelers are fun. I would never dream of riding one a residential street because they are fun, because I don't own the street. My neighbors are entitled to peace and quiet in the same amount I'm entitled to fun. Which means, don't be a fricking a-hole by making uneccesary noises. Nobody's going to call the cops over normal, everyday noises. Offroading is something you need money to do.
If I'm out on a rural highway and some a-hole teenager comes screamin down the street on a 4-wheeler, guess what? I'm calling the cops. Urban, rural, suburban, it doesn't matter. Most people don't want to hear that shite. Most people who live out in the sticks do so because they want peace and quiet.

Dude that’s how we got around back in the day. I live on Vignes Rd and see 4 wheelers and SXS’s all the time. Doesn’t bother me one bit.
Man I’m all about the country life but kids on 4 wheelers on paved roads is bad news waiting to happen. I will never be comfortable with it. I’ve seen the consequences too many times.

His friends in other neighborhoods ride around with zero problems. It's just one dickhead neighbor who complains because of the noise. That said, I do understand that it's against the law and he has every right to complain.
So his friends are busy pissing off neighbors all over town.
Had some a-hole in my old hood who used to ride up and down the street on his 4 wheeler. Didn’t bother me during the day…so I said nothing, then they kept doing it til 10 or so an night one time. I walked out and talked to them and ended up in a huge confrontation and was joined by other neighbors who heard the ruckus. Cops called, neighbors warned, behavior continued. I made it my life’s goal to have that god damned thing impounded. Finally got ‘em and couldn’t be happier.
No one wants to hear that shite in their neighborhood.

Allowing your child to knowingly break the law is a crime. How is this a hard concept to understand? You can’t be this dumb.

AND I'll be arrested for improper supervision. Is this legit?
You can get arrested for anything in our police state without much opportunity to fight it in the short-term.
I've seen similar cases of failure to supervise lead to citations (which means arrest is possible) for child desertion.
LINK to law
quote:
§93.2.1. Child desertion
A. Child desertion is the intentional or criminally negligent exposure of a child under the age of ten years, by a person who has the care, custody, or control of the child, to a hazard or danger against which the child cannot reasonably be expected to protect himself, or the desertion or abandonment of such child, knowing or having reason to believe that the child could be exposed to such hazard or danger.
B.(1) Whoever commits the crime of child desertion shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars or be imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
(2) On a second and subsequent conviction, the offender shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars and imprisoned for not less than thirty days nor more than six months, at least thirty days of which shall be without benefit of probation or suspension of sentence.
This isn't legal advice, just an assessment of LA LEO.
Can you be convicted of this crime based on what you did? Ehhhh. I mean anything is possible with a bench trial.
Can you be arrested for this crime based on what you did? 100%

This. If you want to “tear up” trails, buy your own place (a lot of it!) and have at it. But this shite about running UTVs all over hells half acre because it’s fun or some form of entertainment for your kid is ridiculous. Especially in urban/suburban environments where you’re imposing on others.

I'll never understand why people who live in neighborhoods buy their kids 4 wheelers to go ride on other people's property illegally.

This shite used to happen to me all the time. I don't know the terrain around where he is riding but what I used to do is just take off through the woods. What the hell are they gonna do?

They eventually figure out who you are, show up at the house, write you a citation for eluding, and impound the ATV.

Yard services in my neighborhood with blowers going endlessly for long periods of time throughout the day will piss me off significantly more than a kid cruising by on a dirt bike or 4 wheeler.

I made the mistake of moving into a neighborhood with a HOA. The problem is I like the rules - no ATV's golf carts, celebratory gunfire after 9pm, etc.
The problem is most people simply don't care and they get made and throw a fit when you tell them they can't do something that was in the restrictions when they bought or built their home.
People today feel entitled to do whatever they want. Our HOA spent a fortune on lawyers because we were being sued by a guy wanting to build a 2nd house on his lot even though he already knew he couldn't get a building permit for it. People are idiots and selfish.

That a tough one. When I was a kid back in the 1980’s my friends and I had to ride out of our neighborhood to get across the road to thousands of acres of woods that had miles and miles of trails with good hunting and fishing ponds. We had a blast riding and doing outdoor activities. Long as we drove slow out of the neighborhood nobody cared concerning the neighbors because they knew what my friends and I were going to go do. However, the city police didn’t like it and would get in our arse for driving through the neighborhood to get to the trails. Technically the police are right. Those 3 wheelers were off road and not supposed to be on the road. I actually got mine impounded and it cost my dad $40 to get it off the tow truck. Funny thing is I still live in an area close to the woods and my whole neighborhood rides their 4 wheelers and outdoor looking golf carts made for hunting through the neighborhood. That’s a common occurrence in my neighborhood and the adults usually have ice chest or an adult beverage in their hands while they go to another neighbors house to watch sports or cook out. No one cares in my neighborhood but then again none of them are hauling arse up and down the street. I did have a sheriff pull up behind me several years ago and told me to drive on the edge of the grass off the road but he was being cool about it. My 4 wheeler is not made to legally drive down a street though. You’ve got a get off my lawn neighbor but the cops are by the law correct.

We don’t want to hear that shite out here either! Love when people want to move to rural areas “to get away from it all” and “enjoy the peace and quiet”. Then they put little Jaxxon on a loud arse four wheeler so he can pretend to play motocross. frick that. Ride that thing when you have a reason to (chores, hunting), not because it’s a form of entertainment for your kid.
Buy him a golf cart. At least it’s quiet.
God dang some of you people are just miserable assholes.
