That’s some bullshite. I know a kid that was involved in a similar incident years back. I think he served 3-4 years of a 10 year sentence. He didn’t leave the scene either.

I think we can all assume he was probably drunk but since his Lawyer pulled the okie doke on the cops there's no proof.

I would assume they agreed to anything that wasn't jail time.

People will claim the sentencing is an example of white privilege when in fact your post is correct. Name and money is all you need.

Nahola Nikki McCray
“Kourtney Scott well just so u know... the person that got hit did the exact same thing 23 years ago. He hit my newborn son's father drag racing in Donaldsonville and left him there dead in the road and went to get his dad. He was never charged for killing the man he killed! Karma is real people!”

Right. It was dark, I thought it was a deer, I didn't realize it was a person until I saw on the news that someone was hit by a car and turned myself immediately upon realizing this.

Pretty easy defense

You can assume someone was drunk, but if there is no proof you can't make their sentence harsher based upon that assumption.

The idea that Bubby Brister's name carries weight in a Baton Rouge courtroom is ridiculous. It doesn't.

This had nothing to do with the outcome.

After sentencing, the judge went down and picked up his new bass boat. Paid cash.

Exactly. Bubby's money and his attorney's name are what carry the weight of freedom.

Being ignorant isn’t an excuse. Whenever you drink and drive there’s intent.

Sad turn of events but what is a married father that age walking around drunk in a college area in a place not well lit or pedestrian friendly at that time of night

That could have been any student who had a few beers at the bar going to apartment and likely panicked

Win stupid prizes by putting yourself in a position to get hit like that
