Something you can try for extra food at drive-throughs, it has worked for me

I went to Wendy's some time in the last couple weeks. I usually pay for food with cash. That's how I attempt to stay on budget.
Anyway, I noticed Wendy's held their card scanner machine out the window so no one had to handle cash, change or even the credit/debit card besides you. I paid that way and you don't have to enter your pin or anything.
Last Tuesday I went to Taco Bell since they had the free dos Doritos tacos. When I got to the window I asked if their card machine would reach the window. They freaking loaded me up with my requested fire sauce (had to use a separate bag) and gave me an extra Dorito taco and an extra regular taco.
Saturday I went to Popeyes and did the same thing. They loaded me up with honey and hot sauce in addition to an extra wing. I ordered the two piece white with fries.
These people don't want to touch your stuff any more than you want them to touch your stuff. Both the Bell and Popeyes chicks seemed very happy to find out that the machines would hang out the window a couple feet.
The Popeyes chick really lit up. She will probably be a vice president at corporate because of me.

I don't understand. How does them putting the card machine out the window get free food

I'll be honest. When chick fil a would get delivered to our office they would always have tons of honey packets left over. I have hundreds at home now.

I’ve been saying for weeks that most of not all fast food will at some point go to Apple Pay or scan your card. Cash will be phased out.
There will come a time where human exchanges will be few and far between.

The first time I ever did it was at Wendy's when I saw the person in front of me do it.
But I think you would normally hand them your card and they would scan it, wait for it to verify and then hand it back to you. Hundreds of times a day.
Doing it this way they don't have to touch your card and you don't have to touch your card after they have touched it and after them touching cash, coins and cards all day.
I think. I had never noticed them holding the card machine out the window before and Bell and Popeyes people seemed really happy when I asked them if they could hold it out the window and gave me free food.

I buy the raw honey but when I don't want to waste my good stuff I will damn sure use some popeyes honey packets. But my Popeyes biscuits get the good stuff and a little cinnamon also.

Decent story but the take home message was a little wacky.

You are probably right. It is convenient and very easy.
