Remember the old yellow building with graffiti and vines all over one end, passing it and saying, “dude, that place would make an awesome bar,”

Do people really call the LSU Lakes the beach, even as a tongue in cheek? Never heard that in my life
This is dumb. It’s been called Baton Rouge beach for at least 33 years. I started LSU in 91 and it’s been widely know as BRB at least since then.

It was called BR Beach 20 years ago when I was at LSU. Have people seriously never heard that term?
Kids these days. I lived in BR from 76 through undergrad and always heard/called it BR Beach.

Well, it was called that. And not so long ago.

At least a half dozen cops and an ambulance in the parking lot of the Bayonne at Southshore condos blocking the gate and turning away residents trying to turn in and what looked like a property manager outside stopping walk-up residents.
Definitely zombies.

To correct the record a little bit, before they built the “beach” there it was just grassy and people used to hang out and go “Parking” in their cars there. It was called “The Point”. When they built the manmade “beach” there they started really calling it the beach. There was a period where there was actually a “beachfront”. We would have sailboats and kayaks there on the beach. When it was just grass, there was no defined parking lot, as it was just a big, open grassy area.
