She really is.

I was shocked when I first watched those clips, considering (as one poster mentioned earlier) her music doesn't utilize her voice talent.

Which is a shame since she has an absolutely killer voice.

As long as we don't listen to her for advice on how to run society, I think we'll be ok.

So are you saying I should take down my Taylor Swifto for President yard flag.

In my defense though, my Dolly Parton one flew away in the wind, and I couldn't find another Dolly one.

15 page thread. I wonder what percentage of posts are old dudes saying she’s

1. Not attractive
2. Not talented

You sound like you've listened to a lot of Taylor Swift albums, right?

Teenage girls have always latched onto the latest pop star craze. But now adult women are tagging along acting like idiots who never grew up mentally and emotionally. Society has given them permission to act like children in perpetuity. This country has a serious immaturity problem.

I don't really agree with this. I'm 37 and have been listening to her for almost 20 years. Her music has matured with her, and I don't think its odd for her fans who have listened from the beginning of her career to just stop listening to her music because we are older now.

I know my teenage daughter loves her. I think she’s attractive and all. And when my daughter plays her music in my truck there are some of her songs that are pretty good. She has talent. But past that, I don’t understand why anyone who isn’t a teenage girl, or I suppose boy, would be all that interested in her.

My 16 year old daughter laughed at me when I asked her if she wanted me to get her tix to the show in New Orleans.

Talk about too cool

I like her songwriting now more than when she debuted on the country platform.

I didn't think a whole lot of her radio-played "hits," but then I discovered the Folklore and Evermore albums, and that led to checking out her backlog of other music which got me hooked. It's my wife's fault for weaponizing Alexa in our house.

Honestly, she's got some great music and is a much more gifted songwriter than casual listeners/hearers realize.

And my family is making a week-long trip to Canada next November to see her show in Toronto. I'm actually pretty stoked.

This dumb question recurs anytime that woman enters the news.

This isn't hard. It simple, melodic music that essentially appeals to women under 50. Given that women often have problems getting along with one another, especially mothers and daughters, common musical experiences they can share that aren't too offbeat are going to be oversaturated, over-rewarded, and over-hyped in the public eye.

That's Taylor Swift in a nutshell. She's not terrible, she's not edgy, she's not super innovative. She does her job, and its a niche that appeals to a huge cross section of consumers-- and now she's reaping a pretty substaintial windfall.

I think so too.

But apparently it’s on trend to hate her or minimize her talent/craft.

My 16 y/o son just said “Kanye made her famous mom. Only white girls and soccer moms listen to her.”

Evermore and Folklore are my favorite albums of hers.
