So many rare Pokemon. Does he have a DS and all the games?
Try not to get too pissed when he trades away "good" cards
Also, lots of good Pokemon movies. And my son and I played Pokemon Yahtzee a million times. I recommend getting it for a family game that won't drive you nuts

You'll need 60k dark elixir to upgrade your golems, just keep that in mind

That's almost as lame as when Dumbledore Calrissian betrayed Hope Solo to the Daleks and stole the Centennial Eagle

Get him into the video games instead of the card game. And make him start with Pokemon blue for the gameboy.

You gotta catch em all!
Is he into the video games? Do they even still do the cards and television show?
The video games I think have gotten pretty crazy since I was a youngin. It's a turn based RPG where you level up these "pocket monsters," fight your monsters against other trainers and wild monsters, and try to collect more powerful monsters that you find by catching them with a poke ball. There's a pretty simple story line associated with the original game. I don't know how much you want to go into that or the mechanics of the game.

The kid is 9 for Christ sakes.
Probably doesn't even know how to jerk it yet. Let him have some Pokefun.

pokemon was created by atheists to push the liberal agenda. It even teaches kids about evolution, which everybody knows is bullshite

He's 9. He'd be over it in one year. It isn't having a death sentence for having a silly hobby.

That's what the missing number glitch is for. Who needs a gameshark.

Alright, calm down a bit. It was more farce than anything else. If I truly thought the OP was going to read my post and determine how to bring up his child based off that comment, I would tell him to put his kid in therapy quickly because any child raised by the OT is screwed.
Relax. I was more making fun of Pokemon than anything else.

I don't know how many expansions have come out and how many other "rare" cards they've published, but back in the day the character MewTwo was the most expensive and most sought after card in the game.
If your son is playing the card game, it's like magic the gathering but with Pokemon.

I don't know how to search the cards rarity, so ensure that your kid isn't sitting on a gold mine with his cards by doing some research (think of looking back through card books to see how much your Bo Jackson card was back in the day.) Also, get him card protectors. He's 9, they will bend and what not and lose any and all value without proper protection.

Pokemon has changed since my day. Used to have 150 pokemon now its over 1000. But charizard is the GOAT.

it at least forces some sort of social interaction. Even if it is with other neckbeards

Why can't he just learn it on his own?

I use to pick on my friends siblings for playing that shite because I thought they were geeks.
