Someone hit my side driver side mirror last night, now I’ve got to replace it, help!

I woke up this morning to a shattered mirror and broken cover on my driver side, awesome... of course there’s no note, I guess that’s what I get for parking on the street.
Anyway I have found a couple of websites where I can order factory parts, it looks like for my car I can get a mirror for about $50 or $60.
Then I just have to go get it painted, anybody have any experience with this? I looked at a couple of DIY videos and I’m fairly certain I can replace the mirror myself, I have no confidence in my ability to paint it though. Am I better off bringing it to the dealership to get painted? Or are they going to charge me way more than a local body shop?
Should I bring the mirror in to get painted before I attach it or after?
Thanks for any help I get!

Why park on the street when you can park on your lawn?

Just go to a dealership at night and pop one off another car like yours.

If you were parked on the street, and you decide to make an insurance claim, do NOT tell them you were parked on the street.

I don’t think I’m going to make a claim. Since there’s no way for me to figure out who hit me, and I’m hoping to be able to get this done for < $250 it’s not worth claiming insurance.

I’m almost certain you can buy a mirror already painted.

Go to a reputable body shop. The dealership should be used for warranty work and any recalls.

I had to replace mine recently. I bought a new one for $50.00. YouTube has step by step videos on how to remove door panel etc. Very easy. Took 30 min

Really? Where would I go to do that if I want a new mirror?

You bought a new one that was already painted? Can I ask you where?

Same thing happened to me. I bought one from LKQ and brought to a local repair shop and they put it on for me. They have an LKQ at the Satsuma exit or you can look them up online.

Thanks, I don’t live in Louisiana though. Appreciate the help!

Don't go to the dealership unless you enjoy getting ripped off.

Had a drivers door handle of painted plastic break in half on me one morning. Was a used car for me to begin with, custom paint.
Just took the replacement to a local shop, they had their paint guy come outside, match it up in the daylight. Next day I went back and they installed it. Perfect match. Total was about $90, think it was year 2007.
Out where I live there was only like 2-3 potential places to get it done too. The one that did the work was about 20 miles away.

They are a nation wide company. You can order online and have it shipped to you.

Serious question... are you a chick or a 16 year old guy?

I purchased mine already painted off ebay baw. Some of these things you can just get at a pick a part place. What year / model?

Check on Ebay and see if you can find it. I replaced a bumper on a vehicle and found it on Ebay and the company also painted it using paint code. It was a perfect match to car.

Thanks for everyone’s help, I found one on eBay that matched my model number and paint SKU. Saved myself ~$150, thanks
