No, I'm just not going to sit here and let you pass off some bizarre story as a way of reinforcing your agenda.
What agenda? The fact that the story was bizarre and ridiculous is the only reason I brought it up, and clearly how I framed it.

Call me unpleasant all you want but there is no such thing as getting a ticket for attempted suicide. Fact.
I saw it. Fact.
Did I say he was convicted? No. Jail time? Never mentioned it. The cop was pissed because we were having fun on a bridge with car traffic, likely didn't know what ticket to write and that is what he came up with.
And I didn't say you were unpleasant, just that you weren't overwhelmingly pleasant.

Jesus Christ man make up your mind

That's kind of what I was getting at... It must be much harder for a woman to deal with this than the man, but she has no one to talk with about it. I guess she could call a hotline or something, but realistically she has no one because she can't bring it up to her friends.

Women are the worst on judging other women. I get it all the time.

About what? Sounds like you are having some trouble expressing yourself.

You're just here to argue... You just keep spinning the same information in different ways.

Just giving my views on the subject. Ironically, the people I was "arguing" with both seem to have come around to what I was saying in the first place.
Let me remind you of how you entered he thread:

completely and 100% wrong and immoral
Who are you to make this claim?
ETA Bc your local child mollester told you?
Yeah ok, I can see how you could question my intentions in this thread. Don't act like you came here with the intention to just chat.

I came here to lay down my opinion and thoughts on the subject matter. You have not taken either side on anything. You say one thing, then try and flip it.

I wouldn't still be posting here if it wasn't for you continually making these types of non-specific criticisms. This is like the 3rd time you have said that I don't have a point, or I am going back and forth. Please give me an example of why you think this way.
My original post that set up this position:
quote:
No, it's not a different topic. Your talking points about abortion are designed to support a position, which appears to be (loosely) "women's rights". I think the argument ignores the larger problem. Are we worried that this baby will be a burden on society, and that is why we justify letting them die? Why are we leaving this judgement in the hands of someone who apparently (oftentimes) lacks judgement?
What is the actual justification for abortion? If it is to relieve a (potential) burden on society, what is your stance on actual and current burdens on society? Should they be killed? Who gets a say? When you remove the morality aspect of killing a human, which the pro-abortion side inherently does, why is the line drawn at when the human is inside of a woman's stomach?
To be clear, I am trying to get you to understand that abortion is a larger issue than a woman getting to decide what she does with her body. When you keep the discussion that narrow, you will never actually grasp the other sides perspective.
I'm not really sure how I deviated from that. It really seems like you didn't want to have the discussion with me, and that is ok. But, from where I am sitting, you seem to be refusing to understand my position or participate in a conversation, so there is no reason for you to try and say that my inconsistency is why we aren't getting anywhere.
Again, sorry if you perceived me being rude, argumentative, or inconsistent. I was truly trying to exapnd the discussion but you don't appear to be ready for that. Hit me up when you get over being raised Catholic. I've been over it for quite some time

You are projecting and inferring in your analogy that a fetus is a child.

This is laughable and does not need a response.

It will indeed become a child, no? I don't think anyone can argue that abortion is stopping a life from occurring...not really inferring anything here genius.

It was a series of questions...not sure how that is laughable nor do I see how it supports your position.
Look, I tried to be nice. You said I was being inconsistent, I asked you to point it out, you didn't. You are the one being inconsistent. Your curt and smug responses are an indication that you either don't know what you are talking about or not smart enough to show that you do.
I'm sorry you had some rough encounters with clergymen, and I can understand how it has affected your views on life. But one day, you are going to shake this. You are going get a haircut, you are going to stop listening to Widespread, and you are going to understand that while you don't need to believe all of the things you were told as a child, that you don't have to hate the people that told them to you.
Its not your fault.
