Yeah, I'm narrow minded. I'm not the one who just started thinking for himself when he went to college and is now questioning things he believed growing up.

What is your problem man? I made the statement to say I was pro life at one point and understand where pro life people are coming from. Then you make a statement like this.

Pretty sure most people who grow up in Catholic schools change their views drastically after leaving home. Once you see what life is really about.

Why would I have picked the most insignificant point you were making to comment on if it weren't true? It is true, I was with him, I saw the ticket.

And if you don't think it is bullshite in the sense the story is untrue, what sort of bullshite is it?

Every woman is different when they get an ultrasound, I have a friend who is pregnant and did not hear the heartbeat until 8 weeks. Some of my friends have heard theirs at 6 weeks. It depends on the woman's womb, where her placenta is and so forth.

You will never know anything about how a woman feels during anything that goes on with her body. Just like I won't know how it feels to be a man. Like I said believe what you want. :) took my first line out.

This is just really a very typical, kneejerk, nonsense argument that this discussion always brings out.

Do you not understand that I fully support you and all women getting as many abortions as your withered uteri can withstand and actually might encourage it in many cases?

I am all for abortion, it would just be more productive if we called a spade a spade and stopped acting like it's primarily a women's health issue when it is a population control issue.

From the woman's perspective abortion can certainly be justified through the delusion that it is about their health, sure, everyone agrees with that. It's just flat-out dishonest to make the larger conversation exclusively about the health of the mother when it is about the sustainability of a wider population.

That's why I said time AND development restrictions

ETA I've done plenty of research on conception and early differentiation of cells because of my line of work.

Ok, but in some cases it is about the woman's health. Not just population control.

Well I'm using the adoptions stats to paint a picture of what a world without abortion would be like with suddenly historic levels of unclaimed black children and their prospects of ever finding a home.

I am picturing a world where there is rampant violence within that community, due to undisciplined upbringings and never being held accountable for anything, which will undoubtedly encroach on other communities. I also imagine that members of this community will try and blame other communities for the problems they are experiencing. There will likely be lots of resources devoted to mitigating any spread of violence, but that would likely be met with more claims of discrimination.

Sure, I never said it can't be used to help women.

I just think it's fundamentally dishonest or self-deluding that the entire conversation focuses on abortion as a women's health issue when clearly that is not why the great majority of abortions are performed.

Women's health is a big part of it... It's easy to just throw on top.

This should be a valid question:

If the mother is deemed to be at risk because of the baby, is it morally wrong to abort?

So? What's your point? There is no such thing. No such law exists.

Cops are cops, not lawyers or DA's. Just because he allegedly wrote something on a ticket doesn't make it factual. It is meaningless.

I would say no. Because she could possibly have another baby.

Because there are many factors that go into making that decisions. I don't see it as cut and dry as pro life and pro choice.

I don't even know if we agree or disagree on this matter anymore.

What better argument could you have for the acceptance of abortion than these thoughts you just shared?
