This is just an irrelevant point to add to this discussion because no one is saying that they are not desired at all currently. The supply simply outpaces the demand by such a large degree that without abortion the rates would skyrocket to an unbelievable figure by comparison.

Well, that might not have been what you said, but that was most certainly what you were driving at. Unless, you just used that comment to bring up adoption stats?

The law nor the Court has ever drawn the line at birth.

While I agree, population control will be a much more pertinent subject in the distant future, but as of now I don't see many people clinging to it. There are plenty of babies being born.

FYI - I had a friend jump off a bridge in high school into the river, for fun (the Bridge was 10-12 feet from the water max), was charged with attempted suicide.

This is not only bullshite, but I suspect it is also a lie.

It means exactly what it says- the primary, overarching purpose of abortion as a widespread practice is not, and never has been, about the health of women- it is first and foremost a population control tool employed by terminating unwanted fetuses which would otherwise be a burden on the rest of the population.

It's not arbitrary. So even though a fetus as you call it, a human being as I call it, needs food, water, makes voluntary movements in the womb, etc. isn't actually living? That's bullshite.

Let's also not play down what abortion does to the mother's psychology. It raises the rate of suicide by a shitload.

Haha ok. If you want to think go right ahead. It laughable to say the least.

If the conversation regarding abortion were to move away from this "women's health" tripe and into the population control arena, I imagine many, many people on both sides of the issue would adopt a more nuanced stance on the topic than they have now.

Where has this guy been? This was my point when you said that I didnt have one.

Do you even realize that the architect of the entire modern abortion industry was an avowed eugenicist whose goal in popularizing this practice was to "cull the herd" of what she perceived as inferior genes?

I mean, this isn't a conspiracy I dreamed up, it's all documented history easily accesible and widely available for your edification. Read up on Margaret Saenger, the patron saint of Eugenics..

Yes, but you were using that point to disagree with me. It bolsters my argument from a objective perspective but bolsters yours from an emotional perspective.

Do you know how many babies are born every minute?

Wait, I'll google it... 255. Yes 255 every minute, but that one is a woman putting her stamp on population control.

what the frick are you talking about? We aren't talking about one instance here, we are talking about abortion and it acceptance in society in general. That 255 figure is net of abortions, you do understand that right?

Yeah, I'm narrow minded. I'm not the one who just started thinking for himself when he went to college and is now questioning things he believed growing up.

Of course there are plenty of babies being born- the whole point is that there are too many babies being born- thus the population control.

I've said you can believe what you want. I think it's laughable.
But do not treat me like I'm stupid.

You will never know anything about how a woman feels during anything that goes on with her body. Just like I won't know how it feels to be a man. Like I said believe what you want. :) took my first line out.

Does it really matter? You're not involved in the process, so stop trying to make it your problem. It's not your problem. Mind your own business and move along.

Well I'm using the adoptions stats to paint a picture of what a world without abortion would be like with suddenly historic levels of unclaimed black children and their prospects of ever finding a home.

Your entrance into the thread doesn't help your case at all. Instead of saying frick you, motherfricker I'm not stupid, etc, try talking like an educated woman if this topic is that serious to you.

Yes, exactly... But you can't rationalize this idea to these people. Like Ocean, he can't decide which side he's on regarding whether population control goes with or against his argument.

In my opinion, the only argument is when life starts. If someone can answer that question definitively then the question is moot. FTR, I think there should be a cutoff based on time and development that would prevent a late term abortion.
