My point is let’s not blame New Orleans when literally everyone that’s attended a parade this year except two people have managed to keep from getting run over.

Same here. I feel like I'm on a crusade. Half my posts recently seem to be the same response.

You’d have WAY more crush casualties than you do with issues with the floats.

I could give two fricks about Mardi Gras, fighting massive crowds Full of drunk, ignorant people to catch a 99 cent plastic cup. Can't believe parents actually bring young children to these shitty events.

Exactly. These are two freak accidents. The odds of these happening together are astronomical.

I’ve watched Endymion on sidewalk side of Orleans near the start before. Where it’s barricaded.

Never again. Felt very unsafe with how compressed the crowds were.

You can see one dude in the video with a kid on his shoulders walking towards the body for a closer look. ....

Mardi Gras is over in New Orleans, just make it where people walk in the streets instead of floats

I didn’t know there was a video, but I am with this guy. I was overwhelmed. It’s too big.

Why is it the city's responsibility to keep people from being idiots?

I agree with you, and not many others in this thread calling it a longshot we had two happen so close together.

It is remarkable that it doesn't happen more often.
