In some kind of way, either directly or indirectly, it’s surely due to one of the three:

1. Trump
2. White Supremacy
3. Climate change

Why is it that if I move to the other side of the house I lose my WiFi signal? We have re-established contact with it. It takes 17 hours each way to send and receive data from Voyager. 34 hours total.
There is no drywall in space. Duh.

160 bits per second.

That's the download rate from Voyager.

Sound like a fair trade for perfect coverage of your house?

Wonder if the Boomer guy on the project has hit "print" 34 times and wondered why it wont respond...

It is neat that it still gets enough solar energy to run and that it keeps running in spite of having moving parts.

I believe Voyager is nuclear powered. It is too far from the sun to use solar energy to power its onboard systems.

eta: "Voyager's power supply comes from a radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG), which turns heat from the decay of a radioactive material into electricity to power the spacecraft."

Do you even Lorentz contraction, bro?

L = L0 * sqrt (1 - (v^2/c^2))

Where

L0 is an arbitrary distance, in the direction a moving observer is travelling, as measured by an observer at rest

L is the distance, as measured by the observer in motion

v is the velocity of the moving observer

c is the speed of light

If v=c, then L=0, regardless of the value of L0. Any distance in the direction of travel becomes 0 for the observer moving at the speed of light, and travel time, therefore, is also 0.

Relativity: It's not just a good idea, it's the law.

Holy shite. That is amazing.

It has 3 "nuclear batteries" that generates 450 watts of electricity and halfs every 150 years.
