Whoa... You ok bro? Based on this triggering I wouldn't be surprised if you ARE the Del Porto lady lol. I said he was running for council and my question was, if he were to win and the matter came before him for a vote, would it be a conflict? It was a hypothetical. This means its a scenario that hasn't actually come to fruition and the question is based on the proposed premise. Everything I stated is factual and your responses indicate you don't know as much about the situation as you think you do. Or you are lying.
Chill.
Chill.

My parents still live in Covington and my dad told me he thinks that restaurant is going under because of this. Her clientele do not support this message at all and will find another place to eat for the prices she’s charging.
This is quite possible. However, between Covington and Mandeville there is a decent percentage of the population that will go there to patronize her based solely on her political views. Will it be enough to sustain her business...who knows. FWIW, the place wasn’t high up on my list of places to eat before this went down. As J stated, good food (not great in my experience) and high prices just don’t compute when there are so many equal or better options.

If her food is good, I don't care. If it sucks, I still don't care. I eat places because of the food and service. That is all. If it's not I don't eat there.

We have different definitions concerning the term “factual.”
List the lies and correct them if you will. The people that I have spoken with have no reason to lie and they are intricately involved in the process. No offense, but when you conflate your opinion as being a fact, then your point is moot.
Back to the Del Porto discussion.

The food is good. Imho, there are better places to eat. Her message may be alienating some, which could be bad for business.

“Black people built this country for free...”
They can try to make that argument in southern and New England states.
But they didn’t build build shite from the mountain time zone westward. We used our Natives, Chinese, and Irish for that—thank you very much.

Has anybody pointed out she has one black staff member?

while we're on the subject of overly woke local businesses, does anyone know what NOLA business (maybe a brewery or chef) changed their instagram to "Drew_brees_is_doodoo" the other day? I can't tell who it was before they changed. It's food/drink related. It's been non stop trashing of Brees for the last 48 hours. Get the frick over it. His teammates, you know the ones who actually know him, have forgiven him. Time for the internet mob to let go.

Is this confirmed to be the case? If so...it really paints her concerns for the local black community as being disingenuous imho.

judging by the fb response, she has nothing to worry about
Judging by her crying and lying about what she meant yesterday, she is worried and has a lot to worry about. Those Facebook people are just people who want to see stuff burn like her so they want to make her feel better. Very few will travel to Covington to go eat (if they don't live in the nearby area already).

you're right it is. Really stupid and unnecessary. His comments were insensitive/poorly timed but this is such an overreaction.

Besides what they did or didn't build for free and also that being dependent on plantations along with civil war actual and de facto punishments held south back from building a stronger economy, how often can people burn things down and get rebuilt before they take ownership in their communities?
And how many are disproportionately on the govt welfare or housing on top of added costs of rebuilding and reinvesting in some areas multiple times?
LBJ's war on poverty started the breakdown on the black nuclear family unit. Before that they were as likely if not more likely than whites to come from a 2 parent home. The welfare system is what they should be burning down.

And now I’m blocked from Del Porto’s FB page for pointing out they only have 1 black staff member. But people continue to think she’s not censoring.

I know she wins some virtue signaling. But, how far does that take her. I see maybe through Labor Day

Ultimately, you survive as a restaurant by your locals and repeat customers. It's not like she can take advantage of a lot of tourism like some New Orleans restaurants.

Well I’m banned from the FB page but they have a big group photo of all the staff and there’s one black girl. And a picture from the Christmas party and she apparently didn’t get the invite. I did copy the photos but don’t know how to post them here

No worries. Appears the whole Facebook page has been taken down. Went to check it out moments ago. Gone.
