I see nothing wrong with this, in spite of her moment of stupidity on FB. It is her time and money. Besides, it seems quite admirable
I agree
If she is involved in the community in a way that backs up her Facebook comments then I can’t complain too much. I disagree with the burning comments and I don’t buy the apology.
But if she contributes more than social media posts to the community than it’s somewhat more palatable.
As a restaurant owner she has the ability to make a big impact on the underprivileged community. Donations of food, Christmas meals, cooking classes for underprivileged, apprenticeships etc... all great ways to help and put her money and time where her Facebook fingers are.
If, however, she isn’t doing any of this; well, there’s a word for it: It’s a tough word to swallow. A lot harder to swallow than a bad meal at Del Porto Which I hear is not very common.
It’s called “Hypocrite”.
I really hope she isn’t one of those

Not what I have gathered. Not the issue at hand either. It would seem she went the arrogant and condescending route on the soap box all while using a hashtag that was bound to bring controversy. To attempt to walk it back with a line of BS just doesn’t pass the smell test imho. In spite of her good works in the community, she is getting grief, and in my opinion, the response is justified.

Running shoes, cargo pants, and a black bandana. Gotta be ready for when the looting starts so I can finally have a reason to go into that sketchy arse rug gallery on Boston St.

Add her other restaurant to the do not visit list. Greyhound.
Open your restaurants where your whack ideas of justice are welcome. Not on the Northshore. We will not support you or your overpriced shitty food.

I go there typically 8-10 times a year for dinner/lunch. My parents and sister go there frequently. The food is usually pretty damn good but very pricey. Trust me when I tell you the VAST majority of the BLM protestors that were out in Covington last night and the ones I’ve been seeing on Facebook are not the people that can afford to eat there. Her clientele is wealthy conservative members of the community. She’s going to lose soooo many of those customers, including myself.
As a business owner, why would you piss off your main clientele? This was so dumb of her.

Come on dude, don't be polite now. You thought it was funny earlier about burning Nola down.
Go ahead and wish for her place to burn.

Nah, if they are really your friends make a deal with them. Bring them to eat and pay for it. Have them post on social media that they were treated poorly and the food was crap.
I have a few friends that would do that for me.

They built this country and the least Del Porto could do is let them eat for free.

She’s screwed. Covington is going to end her.
