To this day I still haven't watched that movie.
I've seen enough through osmosis to pretty much know it, but I have never sat down and actually watched it. I likelg never will.
It's a chick flick. You aren't missing anything. If you've seen the memes you've seen the movie.

I do miss the old mom and pop music stores. Going to a place like The Compact Disc Store on Jefferson or Paradise by LSU and talking to the clerks about what new , getting suggestions, sampling tracks with folks in the store. Shopping back then for lots of things was enjoyable b/c the mom and pop stores were actually interested in the stuff they were selling.
Did yall have a Media Play? In Kennesaw we had a Media Play. It was a big box record store but you could pull any CD off the shelf and listen to it in your own private cubicle-like thing before buying. I had a friend that would get high then go there and just loiter for hours listening to different CD's.

Avatar
I remember this place losing their shite over Avatar.
Posters were dying on the hill that Avatar was the greatest movie ever made.

A homeless person in 1998 lived a better life than someone with 10 million dollars in 2026

I would argue that a homeless person today lives better than someone who has to work and makes 250k
Basically welfare and food stamps pays about 250k a year and you don’t have to go to work

Sure, you could argue that.
But you'd be wrong.
Please look up for yourself "welfare and food stamps" and see how very far from $250,000 per year it actually is.

You’re right it probably costs more than that to eat steak and crab legs every day

But that convenience comes at the cost of making it cold, sterile, boring, forgettable.
Convenience also took out our delayed gratification on things. The wait and anticipation used to be a part of the experience.

Saw it at the theater with my girlfriend and had the worst gas imaginable throughout the entire movie (crawfish boil onions). I laughed the whole time. Great memory.

I didn't stand in line for this event, but going to Blockbuster back in the day was always fun.

Some movies were better seen in the theater - E.T., Titanic, Avatar
Would imagine Titanic will made a return to theaters next year for the 30th anniversary
