Is there any good reason anyone who elects to display/pick their preferred pronouns would pick he/they or she/they unless they’re trying to be fricking asinine? Someone I know put this on their LinkedIn, it’s a woman, and she picked she/they….it’s really just because that’s an option the left has put out there for them right?

How are English departments in legitimate schools with common sense thinkers addressing this retardation? Can’t tell you how many articles have used the pronoun “they” referring to one person and I spend the whole article thinking the article is talking about more than one person, it’s just not proper English.

A legitimate school wouldn't even broach the subject. It's really that simple.

I find the display of pronouns to be helpful when someone’s parents decided to frick them with a gender neutral name, or god forbid used a girl name for a boy and vice versa.

Corresponded with an attorney recently whose name was Ned and was bald with a mustache and had he/him in his email signature. He worked for a large firm and clearly was mandated to do this. I saw his picture and thought well no shite it’s he him

This seems like something that will hurt them more than help.

Imagine how many resumes are going in the trash with weird pronoun instructions on them. Imagine how many emails are getting ignored with that stuff in the signature block. It's basically telling a potential employer or business contact that there is a crazy person and a potential headache/lawsuit/HR nightmare on the other end of that communication.

They is the proper pronoun for a single person if you don't know their gender. You probably use it all the time. Say your wife answers the phone and then says "no thanks" and hangs up. You would say, "what did they want?" because you don't know the gender of the caller.

However if someone uses he/they or she/they then they just told you their gender, so the above point is moot. He/they or she/they makes no damn sense at all.

I think we all know the situation I am referring to is entirely due to the author of the article finding out that the subject of the article uses they as a preferred pronoun and not the common sense way to which you are referring.

Someone at work is he/they and I thought it was a mistake. It's not, it's called a rolling pronoun.

Rolling pronouns are when more than one set of pronouns are used interchangeably or change over time depending on the individual's preference in a particular time and space. They can change from day to day or situation to situation.

I can 100% guarantee that my department doesn’t take them seriously. I work for a large company operating on 4 continents that everyone on this site has heard of.

Totally makes sense for everyone on earth to spend their precious time figuring out how each person prefers to be an a-hole that particular day.

Think its a way of stripping one's identity to be part of the collective. Isnt desiree or saphire. Just a they/them. Also strips gender identity. Gender deniers.
