Scruffy stepped outside and the Earth looks flat to him.

Isn't it amazing how obvious the truth is?

That is where she is wrong. The Earth is actually sitting on the back of a giant turtle.

Decker, you raise a valid point. The shadow on the moon I can see. Thank you.

But that proves the Earth is perhaps circular like a good pancake, not shaped like a piece of paper.

Your Aunt knows what's up. You should listen to her more often.

Why do you think it's round? Because someone told you so?

Have you ever seen it for yourself?

It is night here. It is day in Asia. Time zones are created by the Sun shining on different parts of the Earth at different times. If the Earth was flat, it would be all or not, not progressive sun rising and setting, like it is
The moon has lunar eclipses, caused by the Earth being in between the Sun and moon. These are Earth's shadow covering up the Moon, and they are round, showing Earth is round. Additionally, the fact that the Sun is in front of the Earth and the Moon behind, in order to have a shadow cast on it, and that these positions change, shows proof that Earth is round

Much more evidence if you Google it I'm sure, just giving you obvious stuff you can see for yourself

I have no idea if it's day or night in Asia. Even so, that doesn't make the earth round. It might just take the a while for the sun to move from over there to over here... every damn day.

"The fact" that the sun... etc. And I guess next you'll tell me that you've witnessed this from a perspective that you can see all three at the same time. I guess you're an "Astronaut" now.

"Google" If it's on the internet, it's gotta be true! Ha!

Did you ignore the rest of my post? Still not sure how flat earthers can make the progressive rising and setting of the sun fit their theory. It's easy to perceive, and it's good proof. If the Earth was flat, the Sun would rise at the same time everywhere. But if I live in New York and have my watch set to Eastern time zone the Sun will rise at 6 AM. But if I travel to the Pacific coast and don't adjust my watch, the Sun will rise at 10 AM Eastern time on my watch.

You can prove the mechanics of this theory in your hands too. Get a tennis ball and hold it in front of your face. Assume your eyes have a cone of vision similar to the way sunlight moves from the Sun. Spin the ball in your hand slowly. How much of it can you see at any one time? The answer is half. Only half of the tennis ball is visible at any point, just like only half the Earth is being hit by sun light at any one time. As you spin the ball, you see different parts of it, but still only half of it at any one time. Sunlight falls the same way on the Earth as it spins, like you soon the tennis ball

i think it was created to make an illustration
perhaps to scare children not to veer out too far

the earliest sailors KNEW the earth was round

it would make sense in this day and age, a gathering of a bunch of screwballs paying homage to an absurdity!

Your first "proof" assumes that the sun is larger than the earth. What if it's not?

In your second "proof", you begin your third sentence with the word "assume."

How about some proof, and not all these assumptions?

It's funny how science is proven wrong daily, yet we still accept the theories of yesterday as fact.

I don't even know what "like you soon the tennis ball" means. Is this back to the time zone theory?

How do they explain flying in one constant direction and ending up from where they embarked?

Actually, yes... I have.

Are you arguing the fact that the same people that believe the earth is flat don't believe in flight?

Put them on a plane... Look out the window, brah... You're flying.

The watch timing is interesting. My watch keeps shitty time but I'll try it if I ever travel that close to the edge.

there are people that legitimately believe this....if you visit the flat earth society message boards, you will learn that most aren't actually genuine in their belief
